I didn’t even know Syfy was aimed at Women 25-54…
Anon, that women 25-54 reference was perhaps a result of the PR code of “tout whatever you can”.
Syfy isn’t aimed at Women 25-54 specifically. The article just points out they had their highest ratings in both total viewers and that demo. I don’t think their recent success has anything to do with the name change. They just have some strong programming right now.
LOL that’s what I was thinking too Bill…it’s like the Soap Opera Network saying “we grew 900% in Men 18-49″.
No mention of ECW. They treat it like their red-headed step child
thats because its not scifi. I have never understood what the heck sports have to do with scifi. There are enough networks that air sports even networks dedicated to it does scifi really need to air it?
So much for that boycott.
must be the new name.
sort of like must be the shoes, ad from way back when. Nike?
The ran “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” a few times (3 or 4 maybe?) in July. Bet a lot of women in that age range watched it or part of it at least once. I was surprised it was on SyFy (that is so odd to type).
I suppose it could sort of work as sci-fi. I mean it isn’t historical.
Syfy is the best channel on basic, besides Comedy Channel, for males 18-35. I mean quality,in my humble (?) opinion, not quantity. ESPN has all the Disney baggage; its an ABC fetus waiting to be aborted. Warehouse 13 despite all the mainstream media trashing is a hit. Dollhoise has survived. Trust me,and I mean this, males 18-35 are up against a potential fascist regime of censorship YOU haven’t seen since the Donna Reed 1950′s.That was never, despite the worst episode in Gilmore Girls history, ever as true a threat, given that USA no longer is an industrial powerhouse or agricultural for that matter. This fascist threat against male freedom of choice is much more dangerous, because its been more insidious, and both extremists on the left ( Dworkin, Greer, Friedan) and right ( Falwell, the Pope, Reagen and Meese ) are united to make you feel guilty about your sexual fantasies. Ladies, beware: give us a few bone(r)s,or face electoral annihilation.( That was a Butters reference, perhaps… )

Hello why did they change the Spelling SyFy. Imagine Greater…more to it than ECW.
