'MEET THE PRESS WITH DAVID GREGORY' IS THE NO. 1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS PROGRAM FOR THE WEEK ENDING SUNDAY, JULY 26, 2009
NEW YORK July 30, 2009 "Meet the Press with David Gregory" was the most-watched Sunday morning public affairs program in all categories for the week ending July 26, 2009, according to Nielsen Media Research data. The Gregory-moderated broadcast was No. 1, delivering 2.959 million total viewers, +12% more (+318,000) than second place ABC "This Week's" 2.641 million, a +20% lead over third place "Face the Nation's" 2.470 million, a +226% advantage (+2,052,000) over FOX News Sunday's 907,000 viewers. The NBC program has now placed first in total viewers for 403 of the past 406 weeks (when everyone is at full coverage).
In Washington, D.C., "Meet the Press" dominated the competition with 96,000 viewers (3.6/12 HH), more viewers than the CBS, ABC, and FOX combined. "Meet the Press" marked a +220% lead over CBS' 30,000 (0.8/3 HH), a +269% advantage over ABC's 26,000 (1.0/3), and a 317% lead over FOX's 23,000 viewers (1.0/3).
In homes nationally, the NBC program placed first with a 2.1 rating and 7 share. ABC was second with a 1.8/5 rating, CBS was third with a 1.7/5 rating, and FOX was last with a 0.7/2 rating. "Meet the Press" has now placed first in households for 141 consecutive weeks and 501 of the past 502 weeks (when everyone is at full coverage).
Among adults 25-54, "Meet the Press" posted a 0.8 rating. ABC had a 0.7, CBS posted a 0.6, and FOX had a 0.3 rating.
On its digital platforms, "Meet the Press" generated more than 274,000 online video streams from July 26 through July 29, 2009. The "Meet the Press" video podcast (available at www.mtp.msnbc.com) remains the top ranked network Sunday Morning program podcast on iTunes.
