Multiple outlets are reporting that CBS is choosing what's behind door number one and will be announcing during the TCA conference that it's picking up a remake of the classic game show, Let's Make a Deal and it will air in the time slot held by Guiding Light once it ends its 72 year run between radio and TV on September 18, 2009.
Wayne Brady is expected to get the nod as show host and Variety reports that CBS was also testing remakes of $100,000 Pyramid and The Dating Game, which may also make it to the air at some point.

They can’t come up with a NEW game show? I guess there is one positive. No infomercials. Although since “Let’s Make a Deal” basically gave away “stuff” instead of money I guess it would be a big infomercial like “Price is Right” but without the multiple cute games.
Just who are they programming this for? I guess it would be cheap and that is all they care about.
How depressing. I really thought they’d expand B&B to hour and go w half hour game show to make difference. Will be surprised if this gets better number.
Let’s Make a Deal was awesome. Hopefully they don’t make the contestants dress up, because I don’t think that gimmick would age very well.
Wayne Brady is one of those “multi-talented” guys that TV loves to try to find a niche for. What is he good at? Maybe hosting a game show is his last shot to find it?
This is silly. I will not watch CBS after GL completes it’s run.
Let’s Make a Deal GL fans – boycott this show!!! CBS takes off a daytime legend for a bunch of zonks? Sure, I watched this show – when I was 6. Take off that Big Brother crap (that Mrs. Les Moonves hosts) and let Monty and Wayne take that slot. My television “eye” will close to CBS on September 18th….
Wow – you girls are serious! The thing I’ve always noticed about those daytime dramas is that nobody ever tells a joke. They’re all so serious.

GL should go out with a bang – a mysterious villain from the shows past returns with nuclear weapon bought on the black market bent on revenge and makes completely unreasonable demands. As cops storm the warehouse where the bomb is, a mechical voice coming from the bomb is heard as the cops move closer to the bomb “Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One, Have a Nice Day”, followed by a blinding white flash. Offscreen: the laughing voice of Vincent Price from Michael Jacksons: Thriller”.
After 72 years, the gene pool of Springfield is so contaminated in another few seasons mutants would have started being born. Pretty much everyone is related to everyone else in the core families. Genetic mutations would be the inevitable result – kind of like the babies in ITS ALIVE or HELL COMES TO FROGTOWN. This show became a an unsalvagable mess when hard core heterosexual women began turning into lesbians for no rational reason – even a bible thumping Catholic woman and a judge. I suprised they didnt turn several of the guys gay at the same time. Used to watch this with my girlfriend in college and only saw it occasionally on days off work, but it was enough to see GL was headed on the express elevator he hell, going down.

i find it is really sad for them to take guilding light off the air after 72 years just for a stupit game show use are unfare and rude iggnerante selfish people there r alote of people that watch that show and for use to take it off the air now u just show use are very crule and i hope use lose alote of veiwers like really find another time the game show can go on the air dont take off guilding light just for that show i have been watching guilding light for over 20 years not to mention the rest of my family and everyone else around the world very selfish to do just find a different time for the shows to go on the air u dont have to just cut it like that please every one like myself are begging use to keep it on the air thank you .
