Delivering another commanding performance this week, Disney Channel stood as TV’s No. 1 network in Total Day for the 12th consecutive week in Tweens 9-14 (694,000/2.8 rating) and for the 6th consecutive week in Kids 6-11 (819,000/3.4 rating).

TV’s No. 1 network in Prime, Disney Channel’s reign as cable’s No. 1 network well exceeded 4 years of dominance, capturing its 226th consecutive win in Kids 6-11 (1.2 million/4.8 rating) and 222nd in Tweens 9-14 (904,000/3.7 rating).  In Total Viewers, Disney Channel was cable’s No. 2 network this week, towering over third-place TNT by 26% (2.9 million vs. 2.3 million).

The Playhouse Disney block enjoyed a banner week, with this week its most-watched on record in Total Viewers (1.7 million, tied with week of 9/24/07).  In Kids 2-5, key series “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” “Handy Manny” and “Imagination Movers” ranked among TV’s Top 5 programs in the target preschool demo.

  • Featuring all-new episodes of hit original series “Wizards of Waverly Place” and “Phineas and Ferb” on Friday and “Sonny With A Chance” and “JONAS” on Sunday, Disney Channel delivered the week’s Top 23 TV telecasts in Tweens 9-14 and the Top 12 in Kids 6-11.
  • Disney Channel placed 5 shows among cable’s Top 20 in Total Viewers, including original airings of “Wizards of Waverly Place” (4.8 million – No. 7), “Sonny With A Chance” (4.0 million – No. 12) and “JONAS” (3.7 million – No. 18).

“Wizards of Waverly Place,” Friday, 8:00 – 8:30 p.m.:

  • Friday’s all-new “Wizards of Waverly Place” stood as the week’s No. 1 TV telecast in Kids 6-11 (2.0 million/8.4 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (2.0 million/8.0 rating), and placed No. 4 among all scripted cable telecasts in Total Viewers (4.8 million).
  • In addition, in its Friday debut the show was TV’s No. 1 program at 8 o’clock in all 3 key demos.

“Phineas and Ferb,” Friday, 9:00 – 9:30 p.m.:

  • The week’s No. 1 animated show on all of TV in target kids, Friday’s original “Phineas and Ferb” was the series’ second-most-watched episode on record in Total Viewers (3.7 million) and Tweens 9-14 (1.5 million/6.0 rating), and the third-most-watched in Kids 6-11 (1.7 million/7.1 rating).  Moreover, Friday’s telecast was the show’s No. 1 telecast of all time in Boys 9-14 (630,000/5.1 rating).
  • At 9 o’clock on Friday, “Phineas and Ferb” was easily TV’s No. 1 program with kids, doubling runner up Nickelodeon in Kids 6-11 (1.7 million vs. 822,000) and tripling in Tweens 9-14 (1.5 million vs. 496,000).
  • In Total Viewers, “Phineas and Ferb” was cable’s No. 1 show in the half hour, and TV’s No. 2 scripted program.
  • Among all TV telecasts this week, “Phineas and Ferb” ranked No. 2 in Tweens 9-14 and No. 4 in Kids 6-11.

“Sonny With A Chance,” Sunday, 8:00 – 8:30 p.m.:

  • Sunday’s firstrun “Sonny With A Chance” ranked as TV’s No. 2 telecast for the week in Kids 6-11 (1.8 million/7.5 rating) and No. 3 in Tweens 9-14 (1.5 million/5.9 rating), and among cable’s Top 10 scripted telecasts in Total Viewers (4.0 million – No. 9).
  • At 8 o’clock, TV’s No. 1 program, “Sonny With A Chance,” more than tripled second-place Nickelodeon in Kids 6-11 (1.8 million vs. 527,000) and Tweens 9-14 (1.5 million vs. 491,000).  In Total Viewers, “Sonny” was cable’s No. 1 telecast, surpassing No. 2 USA by 8% (4.0 million vs. 3.7 million).
  • Sunday’s outing was the series’ most-watched original episode in the half hour in nearly 5 months in Total Viewers (4.0 million – tie) and Kids 6-11 (1.8 million) – since 3/15/09.

“JONAS,” Sunday, 8:30 – 9:00 p.m.:

  • Sunday’s “JONAS” qualified as the show’s most-watched original telecast in the time period in Total Viewers (3.7 million), and posted its second-highest ratings to date in Kids 6-11 (1.7 million/6.8 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.4 million/5.7 rating).
  • TV’s No. 1 program with kids in its time period, “JONAS” more than doubled runner-up Nickelodeon in Kids 6-11 (1.7 million vs. 605,000) and Tweens 9-14 (1.4 million vs. 586,000).

Playhouse Disney

  • Averaging all telecasts, Playhouse Disney series accounted for 3 of TV’s Top 5 programs in Kids 2-5 demo: “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” (No. 3 – 591,000/3.4 rating), “Handy Manny” (No. 4 – 561,000/3.4 rating) and “Imagination Movers” (No. 5 – 547,000/3.3 rating).
  • Adding “Special Agent Oso” (No. 8 – 465,000/2.8 rating) and “Phineas and Ferb” (No. 9 – 456,000/2.8 rating) to the mix, Disney Channel owned 8 of TV’s Top 10 programs for the week in the target preschool demo.
