The return of TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8” was seen by a strong 4.2 million viewers Monday night (1.8 million were adults 18-49), reports James Hibberd.

Update: per comment/link below from “NickandMore” (thanks!), the 9pm episode averaged  4.0 million and the 9:30pm episode 4.2 million

While that might be a bounce back of sorts, could it be that we’re tiring of the newly-split Gosselins?  And by me, I mean, well, you.  I’ve never watched the show!  Anyway,  the 4.2 million is well, well off the 10.6 million the show scored in late June.  But, still, it performed better than, say, ABC’s Defying Gravity on Sunday Night, but definitely not as well as the finale of the Next Food Network Star finale (at least in total viewers) which averaged 5.94 million.
