what is make it or break it real audience # the last half hour of the show is more telling?
What was with the big jump this week?
Both shows are doing way better than anything on The CW which is pathetic since CW is a broadcaster and gets into more homes.
Make It or Break It is actually doing a great job behind Secret Life.
It’s amazing how female-skewed the show is. I mean, duh, but still:
Teens (1.1 million/4.3 rating) and Female Teens (1.0 million/8.3 rating)
Viewers 12-34 (2.3 million/2.4 rating). Females 12-34 (1.9 million/4.2 rating).
i love both shows but i’m having a hard time deciding which one i like better, i mean secret life is great but its getting a little old on how amy and ben, george and ashley, the mom and the bf, adriena and ricky, i mean for peets sake amy and ben should leave each other and amy=ricky, adrinea and ben i think(just thought that) because ben=rich, adrina=bad girl, that would be exciting, oh and did anyone notice when amy and ben where getting all akwardy a couple episodes ago. make it or break-always something new
ABC Family is like the new WB with the kind of programming they have right now feels like the early days of that station.
RJ, I see two possible reasons for the jump this week. One, the six hour Secret Life marathon from 2-8 probably did a better job of reminding potential Secret Life viewers of the show’s return than ABC Family’s typical daytime lineup. And two, ABC Family’s shows no longer have to compete against The Bachelorette, both of which are significant draws for young women.
Secret Life’s ratings are obviously the more impressive of the two, but Make It Or Break It is doing a great job. Beating The Closer head to head in all the demos ABC Family cares about is quite good, though I guess that says as much about The Closer’s old audience than it does about Make It Or Break It’s audience.
I suspect the ratings for both shows will drop next week, given that it’s up against the Teen Choice Awards. But ABC Family can probably live with that, especially if Secret Life wins a couple awards there. Last summer, a new episode of Secret Life aired the day after it won a Teen Choice Award, and that episode set something like a 8 year basic cable record among teens.
I just realized that Secret Life… with its rating success in ABC Family is doing what 7th Heaven did in the early years of the WB in terms of ratings. Brenda Hampton must be so happy now. IMO though 7th Heaven was really on its earlier seasons unlike Secret Life… which is uneven to say the least
There was a big jump because of two reasons:
1) ABC Family had a Secret Life Marathon on Saturday and on Monday, which tends to draw big numbers.
and
2)The Batcheloret was not on this week.
he is a very good daddy. but i cried when ever she had the baby and he actually started taking care of his child.
dawg dis is da best tv show eva… wen she had ha baby i cryed ,also wen he strarted to act like a dady(well wen rickie started to)…see iam glad to see that they started a new season…well i got to go tlk later…. bye bye
I love both shows, but i think Make It or Break It has a more interesting plot, but by means of drama, Secret Life takes the gold. I like the way Make It Or Break It shows that being a world class athlete isn’t as glamorous as it seems and I love Secret Life because it shows what it’s really like to be a teen these days because most of the time, our problems are perceived as ‘teenage drama’, like we’re just making all of this up and like we’re making something a big deal when it’s not. Both shows expose something in life and that’s what ABC Family does. That’s what ABC Family is known for. That’s why I love watching ABC Family. I also love the way Secret Life doesn’t glamorize teen parenthood, like a lot of shows now do. And Make It or Break It shows how competitive world class gymnastics is. How competitive any sport can be. That’s why these shows are amazing.
