Update: in its final airing, Dirty Sexy Money averaged 2.19 million viewers and a 0.7/3 (rating/share) with adults 18-49 between 9p-10p on Saturday, August 8, 2009.

Dirty Sexy Money had its season and series finale last night.  Though its cancellation was announced long, long ago and episodes have been being burned of in the summer.  Though I'm sure the finale wasn't viewed by many people at 10pm on a Saturday,  I'm not ignoring the results.  Typically for Saturday night ratings we rely on Marc Berman.  I'm sure Marc is probably traveling back east from the TCA Press Tour so I'm not sure when the numbers will get posted.

We'll see them tomorrow either way, but if you can't wait, you can keep checking Marc's site.

Again, though the show's fate was sealed long ago, given the final finalness of it all, I'm going to take a moment to remember all the crazy comments from famed (at least around here) commenter "DirtySexyJ".

i cant believe you have cancelled this show only to replace it with some reality crap. At least this has a story line

  2. Fin

Debbie (I loved DSM) but who is ‘you’?

  3. Beth

I am so so so sad this show is over…My fave show ever since it started. I dont understand…

  4. Alice

This show needs to come back! How can they end it like that! This show is the best nightime drama since the 90′s!!! More DSM!!!!!!!!!

  5. Lenze

I am really upset this got cancelled. How can they cancel this show and leave us hanging? This was the best show on TV with a real storyline. I would much rather
watch this show than a reality show. ABC, please bring this show back. Well, at least let us find out wht happens with Nick and Karen. Is Nick’s father really alive? What about Nola and Jeremy? Got to love this show.

  6. With all the crap on TV (ie Jay Leno) 5 times a week and all this reality stuff that is aimed at the mostly mindless, a unique and intriguing suspense story is cancelled. I’m not sure where you get your actual viewing figures, but I always made a point to be home to watch this one.

I cannot understand how this show could be cancelled?
    I loved it!

This has been an outstanding show with some great talent. It makes no sense to me that you would test the last 4 episodes on Saturday nights at 10pm during the summer. At least post who is behind the whole thing. The Least you can do for the fans.I hope to find a good drama like this on another network.

I has no idea that this show was being aired again and as soon as I heard I went on line and watched all three episodes. This is the BEST television I have seen in years. Dont jump on the band wagon with tastless and boring reality TV. Be the first to bring back really good TV! I have to know the rest of this story. PLEASE!

  10. Stacey

I loved Dirty Sexy Money! I can’t believe ABC would be so stupid to cancel it and put more “reality” crap on!! Great actors, great storyline, great-great-great clothes!!

    I will miss it!!

  11. Jeri

I also cannot believe ABC cancelled this show. I am so tired of all the reality crap on TV. The writing for this show was GREAT, with a fantastic cast. I am 60 years old and have grown up watching some of the best shows in the history of TV. Why would you cancel something that does have a good story line and people did watch it and looked forward to seeing it EVERY WEEK. I do not know where you got the rating from BUT THEY WERE WRONG. Check out all the blogs over the internet about this great show “Dirty Sexy Money”. Every one I knew at my job, my friends, their friends and neighbors all watched this show and are so pissed at ABC. They finally do something RIGHT that’s good entertainment and then cancel it. Shame on the Money makers at all the stations for cancelling well written shows in order to keep reality crap!!!

  12. Can we please drop the meme that any show was canceled for more reality crap? ABC has less reality this coming fall than last fall. DSM was canceled because it had pathetic ratings, and it wasn’t “tested” at 10 pm on Saturdays. ABC was kind enough to let the fans see the rest of the episodes that were in the can. They were doing you a favor, long after it had already been canceled.

  13. Jacob

Wow, some of these people commenting frighten me.

  14. Jamie

Julia stop being so arrogant. the fans of this show were using this page as a place to mourn their lost show. hell let chuck get cancelled and you people would be storming 30 rock.

  15. Ha, Jamie, I am not a Chuck fan. By all means, mourn the show, but try to be intellectually honest about it!

  16. Elizabeth

ABC – You had a good show in Dirty Sexy Money. Was that a mistake and you prefer the talentless reality shows. Back to cable for the real stuff.

  17. Don

I agree with you Jeri, so many people I know watch the show as well. I hadn’t watched tv so religiously since The Cosby Show. It is a shame what they’re doing to the show. I imagine the budget is huge and that could be a factor with all the named talent on the show. It is clear that there is no commitment to the show, as many of their decisions especially the later choice of choosing to air the final series on a Saturday. I just found out about it and had to watch on the internet, which I didn’t mind. Television is going in for a change, with the current trends and attitudes regarding television viewing, things are headed in a drastically different direction from what we now know. However there is a show on TNT that I saw 2 episodes for last night (while missing DSM, as I had no idea it was on) called Dark Blue. It’s no DSM, but and for a police show it’s very interesting. I think we should boycott ABC and not watch any of their shows. The only way they’ll get the message. I understand their love for Grey’s Anatomy but surely there’s got to be room for shows like DSM.

    Sutherland is gone
    No longer on the TV
    Go watch Altman’s M*A*S*H

    Superstars sure sucked
You would have been better off
    Dirty and sexy

    Five hundred channels
And there’s not a damned thing on
    Defenestrate me!

    Then throw the TV
    The five ton Curtis Mathes
    Out, right after me

    Neither of us die
For we bounce off of the three
    Wipeout big red balls

    Haiku for TV?
    Majide! Iron Chef! Now!!
    Charles Osgood, too!

    I hope Bill is now
    Not watching any TV -
    Combat! is OK.

  19. AO

This show was darn entertaining in S1, but I was sad at the depths to which it sunk in S2.

It’s too bad, if they had managed it properly then I think that it could have gone on for years.

  20. Ela Real

i agree with u Jamie and i do believe u are inteligent about what you sayin….Julia,Julia,Julia..u poor thing???????go research on the word FAN. To be honest, this has been one of the best shows in a long time…i only started watching it late last year bt i never stopped…now why would you cancel something with such a story line??…every single person in it had great talent, smart lines…PLEASE ABC…bring it back….loved it…i am still in shock for its cancellation and i cant tell u how much am disgusted with these new reality shows…aaaarrrrgggggghhhh.
