“THIS WEEK” IS #2 IN TOTAL VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54, OUTPERFORMING CBS’ “FACE THE NATION”

“THIS WEEK” EXPERIENCES GROWTH YEAR TO YEAR,

QUARTER TO DATE AND SEASON TO DATE

On Sunday, August 16, ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” placed second among Total Viewers and the key Adults 25-54 demographic, outperforming CBS’ “Face the Nation” according to Nielsen Media Research.  ABC News’ Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper anchored the show for George Stephanopoulos, who was on vacation.

Compared to the other Sunday morning discussion programs, “This Week” is the only show to experience growth among both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 third quarter to date.  “This Week” is up +14% among both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54.  NBC’s “Meet the Press” in comparison has declined -14% in Total Viewers and -27% in the demo.

Season to date, “This Week,” which continues to rank #2 in Total Viewers (3.09 million) and the demo (1.05 million), has also experienced the most growth among Total Viewers (+15%) and Adults 25-54 (+8%).  “Meet,” in comparison, is down -1% in both Total Viewers and the demo.  And versus the same week last year, “This Week” is the only show to grow or stay even in both Total Viewers (+1%) and Adults 25-54 (no change).

George Stephanopoulos is the anchor of “This Week” and Ian Cameron is the executive producer. The program airs Sundays on the ABC Television Network.
