MVP performances by HELL’S KITCHEN and NFL PRE-SEASON GAMES 1 and 2, along with solid showings by MORE TO LOVE and OCTOMOM: THE INCREDIBLE UNSEEN FOOTAGE led FOX to a strong weekly win last week. The network achieved a dominant 2.0/6 rating among Adults 18-49 and also ranked No. 1 among Adults 18-34 and Teens.
On Tuesday, week five of HELL’S KITCHEN (3.5/12) delivered its highest Adults 18-49 rating and Total Viewers of the summer (7.5 million). HELL’S KITCHEN was up +9% versus last week in both Adults 18-49 (3.5/12 vs. 3.2/11) and Total Viewers (7.5 vs. 6.9 Mil.) and won the 8p hour among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34/25-54, Teens and all key demos. In addition, HELL’S KITCHEN was the highest rated program of the night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, outperforming ABC's special Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, the premiere of Shaq Vs. and an original of Primetime: Outsiders, CBS' Big Brother and NBC's two-hour America's Got Talent.That same night, MORE TO LOVE posted a 1.7/5 among Adults 18-49, in line with the previous week’s performance. The plus-size reality dating competition showed week to week gains (+3%, 3.8 vs. 3.7 Mil.)
On Wednesday, FOX special OCTOMOM: THE INCREDIBLE UNSEEN FOOTAGE posted a 1.6/5 among Adults 18-49 and won the night among Adults 18-34 and the key Women 18-34 and 18-49 demos. The special showed growth throughout the night, increasing in its last half hour vs. its first in Adults 18-49 (+20%, 1.8 vs. 1.5) and Total Viewers (+10%, 4.4 vs. 4.0 Mil.)
This week’s NFL PRE-GAME shows and NFL PRE-SEASON GAMES crushed the competition on Thursday and Friday. GAME 1: EAGLES vs. COLTS delivered a 2.4/8 among Adults 18-49 from 8-11p, leading FOX to a nightly win and beating the nearest competitor by +39%. In fact, Thursday’s game was FOX’s highest-rated NFL Pre-Season Game in two years among Adults 18-49 (since 8/9/07.) GAME 2: TITANS vs. COWBOYS posted a 2.3/8 among Adults 18-49 and was FOX’s highest-rated NFL Pre-Season Game in two years in Total Viewers (since 8/9/07.) GAME 2: TITANS vs. COWBOYS was up +77% in the key adult demo (2.3/8 vs. 1.3/4) and +91% in Total Viewers (6.7 vs. 3.5 Mil.) compared to NFL PRE-SEASON GAME 2 last year.
