CARTOON NETWORK
- Cartoon Network’s world television premiere of Dude, What Would Happen (Wednesday, Aug. 19, 8:30 p.m.) scored double and triple-digit ratings and delivery gains over the prior year time period among kids, boys and girls 6-11, as well as kids boys and girls 9-14. Kids 6-11 delivery (588,000) increased by 35% while kids 9-14 delivery (518,000) increased by 104%. Similarly, boys 6-11 delivery jumped by 33% and boys 9-14 delivery jumped by 147%. Just 30 minutes earlier, the world premiere of Bobb’e Says (Wednesday, Aug. 19, 8 p.m.) also posted solid growth compared to last year among kids 6-11 and 9-14, and boys 9-14. Delivery among kids 6-11 rose by 1%, delivery among kids 9-14 by 3%, and delivery among boys 9-14 by 21%.
- Overall across the third week of August ‘09, Cartoon Network’s prime time performance posted delivery gains among kids 2-11, 6-11 and 9-14 compared to the prior four weeks. Average kids 2-11 delivery (630,000) improved by 6%, kids 6-11 delivery (455,000) by 4% and kids 9-14 delivery (347,000) by 5%. The network’s newest programming block (Wednesday, 8-10 p.m.) featuring original alternative live-action programming also charted double-digit delivery gains among all kid demos compared to the prior four weeks. Kids 2-11 delivery (600,000) improved by 35%, kids 6-11 delivery (475,000) by 31% and kids 9-14 delivery (399,000) by 32%. Boys 2-11 delivery advanced by 35%, boys 6-11 delivery by 34% and boys 9-14 by 42%.
ADULT SWIM
Adult Swim racked up another top weekly performance by ranking #1 for total day delivery of adults 18-34, adults 18-24, men 18-34 and men 18-24. Compared to the same week in 2008, adults 18-34 delivery (453,000) increased by 11%, men 18-34 delivery (280,000) by 4%, adults 18-49 delivery (614,000) by 17% and men 18-49 (369,000) by 11%. Adult Swim telecasts also accounted for 19 of the top 50 telecasts of the week—five among the top 10—on ad-supported basic cable among adults 18-34, more than another network.
