the cw does need a soap. all the soaps on air are trying to atract younger viewers, so why not launch a youth oriented soap on a youth oriented channel...except, soaps cost so much and ratings probably wont be better than what we have so far.

Julia, Shem is actually correct. The CW has The CW Daytime, which has picked up Banks' show for the 2009-2010 season.

For the people who are saying that the CW doesn't have a daytime show- they have Judge Jeanie Pirro and this fall, Tyra's show is moving to the network.

The Emmys did better than I expected, considering that the CW is a smaller network, has no daytime division, and does poorly on Sundays.

When the Daytime Emmys switched to night airings, viewership went up. The show performed very respectably for a number of years. I think it has as much right as any other awards show to air at night. If people don't want to watch it, they could just, well, not watch it instead of saying it doesn't belong.

Bill I just posted a message for Robert in the US shows in the UK thread at the bottom.

If he's away he may not pick it up, so you may want to look at it.

QUOTE: Is there anyone here besides me that finds “There Goes the Neighborhood” intriguing? I just like the drama between the families. END QUOTE

I liked it, but all the crying over nominating a family makes me sick. I wish CBS would have went to a neighborhood where everyone hates each other.

Like the backwards picture up there of Nairda Nosretep on the site. (Adrian Peterson).

But there is a good point that this was a very hyped football game for the preseason, and obviously any national TV game with the Bears will deliver the #3 market to your doorstep. (That's why you always put Bears-Packers or Redskins/Giants-Cowboys on national TV, regardless of how good the teams are. It's a ratings guarantee.)

They actually used to have Daytime Emmys in the daytime. Then someone got the bright idea they would be better in prime time. Mistake.

I "thought" there might be a pre-show but I was watching 60 Minutes too so I would flip and every time I flipped channels I "saw" what I thought was an actual show. It must have been those prolonged ads for their upcoming season but how would I know, I don't watch CW.

Once again, they give out the BIG last Best Show award and the winners are rushed. We could have done without an extra chorus or two of Vanessa Williams' last song, or the dance part. Why do they keep doing this? I say the producer of the winning show should get to go on for at least two minutes. There are a lot of people to thank. I went into anther room to announce the winner and when I turned around and came back they were running the credits. The way they handle this award they may as well not announce it and just put a big "You're a Winner" sign with the name of the show. Like how General Hospital didn't win this year. It wasn't allowed in the category. Only THREE soaps were any good this year???

I did like the clips they were showing but then toward the end they seemed rushed and that was with at least three winners not thanking anyone because they were not there. Amazing that not one person from the View could be there in case they won. But why have three long production numbers and the very long PSA for Feed the Children and then having to rush the show?

Sesame Street tribute was nice but why the extra production there too? You thought they were done and no, there was another song...how odd. What about a tribute to Reading Rainbow? A mention?

So on the whole it was better than some but still needs improvement. Filler at the end of an awards show would not be a bad thing. Vanessa could have done that last number AFTER everyone had won their prizes like Neil Patrick Harris did at the end of the Tonys.

But yes, Daytime, Daytime Emmys, that would be nice.

Sesame Street tribute was nice but why the extra production there too? You thought they were done and no, there was another song…how odd.

Wow "Shark Tank" did well once again - last night's episode was pretty good! (although those two ladies with the baby crib cover thing seemed so stupid, despite their relative success)

The Emmy's, IMO, did pretty good all things considered - lower profile (CW), dead of summer, practically no promotion. I think the CW might stick with it for another year and air it in a better timeslot during the week...it could easily get a 1.2 demo with the right promo/good timeslot during the spring.

Like Katie said, this was a good number for them as The CW doesn't score this high ever on a Sunday Night.

One of the problems are also this isn't a network some soap fans aren't familiar with so there were probably struggles for people finding the station.

I think they should air it again next year and really try to focus on getting a bigger number with more advertising and really reach all soap so they can all watch it.

The CW needs a soap and they could easily do it in daytime.

Jay Cutler and the Bears = Ratings!

That was probably the most anticipated preseason game of all-time it really felt like a regular season game. The NFL is the most dangerous entity on all of television to be doing this well for a meaningless game.

The CW actually looked like a real network for the first time since they launched. The Emmy people have to be happy with that number because it could've been worse and the fact that people didn't know it was on or had access to it this was actually a solid number.

Is there anyone here besides me that finds "There Goes the Neighborhood" intriguing? I just like the drama between the families.
