THIS JUST IN... From CBS Entertainment... CBS ORDERS MORE "BIG BROTHER"
BIG BROTHER concludes its 11th edition with a special two-hour LIVE finale and reunion show, hosted by Julie Chen, next Tuesday, Sept. 15 (9:00-11:00 PM ET/delayed PT) as the Final Three (Jordan, Kevin and Natalie) face off for the $500,000 grand prize.
Online, BIG BROTHER 11 is the Number One show on CBS.com and across the CBS Audience Network in all key metrics with 25% more unique users and 94% more video streams than last summer. CBS.com also logged a record 11.6 million votes when Jeff was awarded the "Coup d'État" Power.
Broadcast Hit/Internet Sensation To Return for 12th Edition in Summer 2010
Less than a week before the two-hour finale of "Big Brother 11," CBS is already making plans for Big Brother 12. The network announced today it has ordered another edition of the hit reality series for broadcast in the summer 2010.
The three-times-a-week series has once again turned into a summer sensation, growing its audience both on-air and online for the CBS Television Network and CBS Interactive platforms.
BIG BROTHER 11 is one of only a handful of programs to post growth in its 10th season. Compared to last summer, BIG BROTHER 11 is up +7% in viewers (7.08m from 6.60m), +4% in adults 18-49 (2.5/08 from 2.4/07) and +5% in adults 18-34 (2.0/07 from 1.9/06). Each of the three weekly broadcasts are also posting summer-to-summer growth.

THANK GOD!!….first
The scorn that is reality tv
Reality TV takes viewers to the lowest common denominator in taste and intelligence. Can’t believe advertisers want to target viewers who seriously watch this stuff.
I know it does well (for summer), but seriously CBS doesn’t have more class then this.
This has nothing to do about class. As a game designer myself, I think Big Brother is an awesome game to watch and has entertained me since I was turned onto the show with Big Brother 8. All game shows are reality TV in that sense, and some reality TV (things on VH1 come to mind) shouldn’t be used as a marker for all of it.
I only watched the 3rd edition, which was highly entertaining. It also had the best ratings of the franchise – the finale grabbed 14 million viewers against the season premiere of Friends.
Compared to more repeats of CSI, CBS could really do worse with its summer.
YAY! I’m glad! Big Brother is the only thing I watch during the summer!
Well now here’s a shocker: a show that does realy well in the ratings and is cheap to make gets renewed!
“Reality TV takes viewers to the lowest common denominator in taste and intelligence. Can’t believe advertisers want to target viewers who seriously watch this stuff.”
Good God could you be any more arrogant.
Thank God there is cable!
I absolutely love Big Brother. It’s better than Survivor, Amazing Race or any of the other reality shows and yet..get’s no respect. But guess what?? The viewers still tune in and love it. Almost no show increases ratings in the 11th season…Can’t wait for season 12 (11 summers on and still going strong).
