NATIONAL NIELSEN RATINGS FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 31 – SEPTEMBER 6, 2009

FOX delivered a 1.4/5 among Adults 18-49 last week with a strong performance by HELL’S KITCHEN and solid specials including So You Think You Can Dance: 15 BEST PERFORMANCES EVER, an encore Director’s Cut of the Glee pilot episode, and unprecedented “tweet-peat” episodes of Fringe and Glee.  Heading into its Fall season, FOX continues to reign as this summer’s No. 1 broadcast network in the key adult demo.

HELL’S KITCHEN sizzled on Tuesday night with a 3.4/12 among Adults 18-49 and was the highest rated program of the night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, outperforming ABC's Shaq Vs. and Primetime: Outsiders, CBS' Big Brother and NBC's two hour America's Got Talent.  In the 9p hour, MORE TO LOVE maintained its solid week-to-week performance, posting a 1.8/5 among Adults 18-49.  FOX ranked No. 1 for the night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens, and key male and female demos.

On Wednesday night, FOX featured a special So You Think You Can Dance: 15 BEST PERFORMANCES EVER in the 8p hour, which posted a solid 1.9/6 among Adults 18-49.  An encore Director’s Cut of Glee in the 9p hour achieved a 1.8/5 and outperformed NBC’s America’s Got Talent among Women 18-34.  The new musical comedy showed strength in its hour, increasing 6% in its second half hour among Adults 18-49 and +12% in Adults 18-34. Together, the DANCE and Glee specials won the night among Adults 18-34 and Women 18-34, besting the No. 2 network of the night by +39% in Women 18-34 (2.5 vs. 1.8 for ABC).

FOX premiered “tweet-peat” episodes of Fringe and Glee on Thursday and Friday in which cast members and producers communicated with viewers on-screen via the social networking website Twitter. The Fringe and GLEE “tweet-peat” episodes, created to reward and more deeply engage core fans of the shows, posted a 1.0/3 and 0.8/3 among Adults 18-49, respectively.

FOX had 4 of the Top 20 programs among Adults 18-49: HELL’S KITCHEN (No. 1), So You Think You Can Dance SP (No. 12), GLEE SP (No. 15 tie) and MORE TO LOVE (No. 15 tie).

FOX had 7 of the Top 20 programs among Adults 18-34:  HELL’S KITCHEN (No. 1), MORE TO LOVE (No. 6), GLEE SP (No. 8 tie), So You Think You Can Dance SP (No. 8 tie), HOUSE (No. 14), COPS SAT 9:30p (No. 17) and COPS SAT 9:00p (No. 20).

FOX had 5 of the Top 20 programs among Teens: HELL’S KITCHEN (No. 2), GLEE SP (No. 12), FOX MOVIE SPECIAL SUN 7:30p (No. 14 tie), So You Think You Can Dance SP (No. 14 tie) and MORE TO LOVE (No. 18).

FOX had 1 of the Top 20 programs in Total Viewers: HELL’S KITCHEN (No. 9).

MORE TO LOVE achieved a 1.8/5 among Adults 18-49, on par with recent performances and ranked No. 3 in its 9p hour among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

An encore Director’s Cut version of GLEE posted a 1.8/5 among Adults 18-49 and ranked No. 2 in the hour among Adults 18-49 and No. 1 in Adults 18-34 and Women 18-34.  The encore of GLEE outperformed NBC’s AMERICA’S GOT TALENT in head to head competition in the 9p hour by +9% in Women 18-34 (2.4 vs. 2.2).  GLEE showed strength in its hour, gaining +6% in its second half hour among Adults 18-49 (1.8 vs. 1.7) and +12% in Adults 18-34 (1.9 vs. 1.7).

FOX ranked No. 3 for the night among Adults 18-49 and won the night in Adults 18-34 and Women 18-34.  In fact, FOX’s line-up of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE: 15 BEST PERFORMANCES and an encore of GLEE bested the No. 2 network of the night by +39% in Women 18-34 (2.5 vs. 1.8 for ABC).
