The Game might go on, on BET

The latest update is that CBS Paramount and BET have reached an agreement on the canceled CW series, The Game.    That's good news, but it's only a first step in continuing the series.  Since all the existing contracts have expired, they all need to be renegotiated.  But it's a positive step at least, for fans of The Game.

    what’s the game?

It’s a three year old sitcom canceled by the CW for this season.

Good for The Game, hopefully they could work things out, its actually a pretty decent sitcom and it’s always nice to see a canceled show have a new life.

The show was doing fine but the cw(clueless wonders)decided they wanted to recycle Fox’s old lineup of soaps from 15 years ago.

ABOUT TIME!!!!!! THANK GOD I really thought all was lost! Thank you to everyone who Twitted, blogged, and posted SAVE THE GAME. We as people not only race can do anything we are passionist about. Even something so small as a tv show. I love the cast, writer, and creator. Thabks for a wonderful show! Lets make history make THE GAME ONE WHOLE HOUR

I am so incredibly happy. Hopefully they keep the original format and get all of the original cast.

The Can’t Watch network obviously did a horrible job with the show. I think it came out too late, it should’ve came out back in the UPN golden days on Monday Nights when Girlfriends was ruling The WB. The Game is an amazing funny comedy and well gelled and written. Kelsey Grammer is a brilliant producer.

Why would they want it? The ratings were horrible on the CW, and the show was never even close to being a favorite of the critics. Sure, the new network would expect lower numbers than it drew on the CW, but probably more than I think they’ll get.

Well, I don’t have the numbers but I think The Game rates well on the african-american audience so BET picking it up makes sense.

the 3rd season of The Game was on friday night, yet it still lost a lower precentege of viewers than all other shows that moved to a different night last season. Also it was a top 10 viewed show among african americans.

Southern Boy – Its probably better that BET gets it. It only ended after 3 seasons and 64 episodes so there wouldn’t be a syndication package offered, unlike CWs other cancelled comedy Everybody Hates Chris. Like how Medium’s move to CBS benefitted both CBS and NBC, The Game’s move will help BET with ratings, help The CW get rid of comedies and help The Game get more episodes. And actually ever since Chris and The Game got axed the only black comedy on the air is the upcoming Brothers and The Cleveland Show.

This is exciting news. I hope that everything works out because this show definitely deserves a fighting chance. I truly think that this could be just as successful as Girlfriends(meaning 8 seasons long) if they’re given a fair shot.

I hope it works out. I really enjoyed watching the show. I believe that BET should get it a trial period to see how it would work out. Besides if Neffe and Frankie can get their own show on BET it wouldn’t hurt to give The Game a chance.

I reallt, really, really, really like the game t.v show.I hope everything works outs with the cast and the new episodes. I want to see Derwin get back with Melanie, I want to see Kelly leave Jason for good, and I want Ms.Tasha to stay with Rick Fox, quit the manager job, and settle down with him.

I still hate CW(clueless wonders lol JPR44) but one of the main reason the game is so well known by many people is because CW advertised it well and shows usually get advertised well on that channel. A less diverse and wide range of viewers if the sshow started on BET. THEY NEED TO CONTINUE THE GAME!!! of course all of the characters will come back!!DUH!! I hope they find out that the baby is not derwin’s but it probably is unfortunately. BET will make CW sorry that they canceled THE GAME!!!

  15. im sooooooo happy. i love the game and i cant wait to see what will happen with evry one cw is stupid bringing back shows from the 90s

This was a realy slick, funny, good looking show, produced by Kelsey Gramer, it looks better than NBC’s Friday Night Lights, and it is prety funny as well, the show was always the highest rated of whatever comedy blocks CW tried over its 3 year run…It actualy could of done well for the CW had they tried it after the compatible ATM, but CW didn’t want to take the chance that it did well in that slot and have to explain the canclelation….BET sadly will be lucky to afford 1 year but at least that will bring it to a more respectible episode count.

  17. PEANS

OMG THANK HEAVENS!!! I AM SO ADDICTED TO THIS SHOW. I WATCH EACH EPISODE OVER AND OVER… CANNOT WAIT FOR NEW EPISODES TO COME ON… PLEASE AIR THIS SHOW AND SHOW SOME NEW EPISODES…

    I LOVE THAT SHOW
