  1. I woulda been happier if it was canceled. The last season was pretty freakin boring.

  2. Avery

It’s a cute show but I haven’t laughed since the first season. And you said, last season was pretty uneventful.. i forgot to watch the last 2 episodes!

  3. Dan

I wonder for how many episodes though.

  4. Lizardman

The biggest problem with this series is no continuity. The first season was twenty two episodes and really followed a serialized story. It seemed to be about something.

Seasons 2 and 3 were nine episodes each and seemed more like a split single season. So now they renew it for what? I was waiting for more of the last season? 9 more episodes? Season 2 and 3 are really just one season two of episodes. Hopefully they’ll produce a season four with at least 16 to 18 episodes and a good storyline.

This show has a lot of promise but for some reason the first season just has not been followed with the same solid product so far.

I think TBS may have split the series again on purpose. My Boys season 1 broadcast 13 episodes in 2006 and 9 in 2007, while it looked like two separate seasons it was counted as one. Seasons 2 and 3 were aired in 2008 and 2009 repectively but they seemed like it was produced together as one split. TBS will likely do the same thing and split season 4 from 2010-2011.

    @Dan

But that is not the case. season 2 and 3 weren’t shot back to back

It’s sure there will only be 9 episode this season again? i hope it’s more, 9 episodes are nothing!

    i love this serie

Glad to hear it’s coming back. I think the writers need more than 9 episodes to really bring out the best in the show.

  8. Dan

Joesph, your right they werent shot back to back but the transition could make it seem that way. Anyway, I hope its 16 episodes, 9 doesn’t seem like anything.

I am incredibly happy. I love this show but of course I happen to be a Chicagoan who went to Nortwestern. The show is set in Chicago and was created by a Northwestern alum.

Also, while I would like more than 9 episodes Being Human has shown me that good show can be made in as little as 6 episodes.

  11. It is kind of a shame that on a network that loves doling out those 90-episode orders for syndication, something like this can only scrape together nine episodes or so a year. But better than cancellation, I say.

And I actually thought last season was a marked improvement over the really forgettable season 2, though still not up to par with the first season.

  12. Roger

Excellent, I figured the delay in renewal was not a good sign.

  13. Buddy

I love this show but it is so mistreated by TBS (which is slowly becoming the Tyler Perry network). They usually wait between 4 and 6 months to even make a renewal announcement and when they do they only bring the show back for a lousy 9 episodes at a time. How can any show build momentum that way? They really are squandering a show with signs of life. It should be a bigger hit.

  14. Dan

Buddy – your right. TBS is is becoming th network for everything Tyler Perry. House of Payne, Meet the Browns and a new one The Tyler Perry Show. Frank TV was axed earlier this year. 10 items looks to be on its way out, My Boys has been renewed but probably for the last time, and Its a toss up on The Bill Engvall Show.

  15. Buddy

Jim Gaffigan will not be returning for the fourth season. What a bummer.

  16. Gleebo

My Boys has definitely went downhill but still watchable. I thought 10 Items or Less really improved during the 3rd season and hope that it gets another one…but since I haven’t heard anything I am sure it is all but canceled.
