TELEFUTURA #2 SPANISH-LANGUAGE TELEVISION NETWORK IN PRIMETIME WITH NEARLY 1 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS 2+, BEATING TELEMUNDO
Network Delivers Highest Weekly Primetime Performance Since July 2007 Among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34
MIAMI, FL, SEPTEMBER 11, 2009 – TeleFutura, one of the largest Spanish-language networks in the U.S. and the ideal entertainment alternative for Hispanics across the nation, announced today it finished as the #2 Spanish-language television network in Monday-Sunday primetime last week (8/31/09 – 9/06/09) with nearly one million Total Viewers 2+, beating Telemundo in the process. In fact, this was the network’s highest or best weekly primetime performance since the week of July 2, 2007 among Total Viewers 2+ (994,000), Adults 18-49 (557,000) and Adults 18-34 (322,000), thanks to the network’s varied programming that includes “Veredicto Final” (Final Verdict), “Cine de las Estrellas” (All-Star Cinema), and the original novela “Yo Soy Betty, La Fea” (I Am Ugly Betty), as well as exciting sporting events and soccer matches such as the USA vs. El Salvador game last weekend.
As a matter of fact, since the third Quarter of 2008, TeleFutura has reported consistent audience growth in primetime among Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49, narrowing the gap against Telemundo in both demos.
