FINE LIVING NETWORK GETS A WEEKEND WORKOUT WITH CURRENT SEASON OF NBC’S HIT SERIES, ‘THE BIGGEST LOSER’

Knoxville, Tenn., September 15, 2009 – Fine Living Network (FLN) today announced plans to debut the current season of The Biggest Loser beginning Friday, September 18 at 8:00 PM ET (with an encore performance on Saturdays at 8 PM ET). The cable home to one of television’s most popular franchises, FLN has been airing The Biggest Loser since it formed a distribution pact with NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution last year.
Exploring a second chances theme, this will be the first edition of The Biggest Loser to feature a single contestant format since 2007; plus, the reality show will introduce their heaviest contestant to date — Shauntina “Shay” Sorrells, who begins the competition at 476 lbs. Hosted by Alison Sweeney, The Biggest Loser cast this season also includes Amanda Arlauskas, who was voted in as a contestant by viewers at home during the show’s finale this past May. Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper return as The Biggest Loser trainers, and the contestant with the highest weight-loss percentage at the end of the season will once again be awarded with a $250,000 prize.
As part of their ongoing commitment to deliver original content, FLN will also create new short-form interstitials called Smart Tips featuring Bob Harper. These exclusive segments, all one minute in length, outline specific exercise and nutrition tips on topics ranging from how to order in a restaurant to the best food combinations for weight loss to creating a buddy system for exercise to the importance of stretching. The special segments will air throughout the fall installments of The Biggest Loser, and will also play throughout FLN’s lineup.
In other programming news, FLN will air the current season of The Martha Stewart Show on weekend mornings beginningSaturday, September 19th. Airing Saturdays from 7:00 am ET to 9:00 am ET and Sundays from 7:00 am to 10:00 am ET, fans of television’s favorite domestic diva will enjoy a full week of Martha Stewart’s crafts, cooking, decorating and collecting in entertaining back-to-back episodes. During the fifth season of the Emmy-winning “how-to” series, Martha Stewart celebrates the handmade and the homemade in segments featuring renowned chefs, artisans, crafters and collectors, celebrities as well as accomplished viewers who will showcase their amazing talents in Martha’s studio.
