  1. Glenn Beck– 3,421,000 viewers (723,000) (1,478,000)

The power of Glenn Beck and the ACORN story (that no one else is covering).

  2. Mike

Way to go Fox and Crew!

I’m sure Sharon’s head is going to explode and she’ll come on here spewing crap as always.

Beck’s numbers will soon exceed O’Reilly’s.

  3. jalinda

It’s excruciating to watch Matthews, Obermann & Maddow.

They are way too smug and their diatribe is really very caustic and vicious.

MSNBC, there is a reason you are losing viewers!

  4. MikeS

Those are O’Reilly’s best numbers since inauguration week.

  5. Wow why did Hannity do so well?

  6. Maria

O’Reilly is the Number 1 anchor on TV at the present moment.

  7. Raymond

Interesting numbers the past few weeks. Clearly the polarization of the Country has never been more intense. Some of it is fueled by the intensity of the programing by such different perspectives as “uber liberal” Keith Obermann and defacto liberterian Glen Beck. They both fuel intense reactions; arbuable not all together healthy if interpreted by extremes in our society. Most of us are near the center politically; center right or center left. But the 24 hour news cycle that seems the thrive and sensationism, sarcasm, anger, reactionary, fear, etc. further moves reasonable people to take up sides and become increasingly polarized politically. Further, liberals listen mostly to other liberals, and the same idea with conservatives. Even though I find most of Fox News to be more objective (with some exceptions) and probing than NBC (MSNC) or CNN I think all are somewhat guilty. I have found Keith Obermann to be just overaly cynical and outright disrespectful to anyone other than the hard left. He is just a nast, egotistical man that loves to show off his face and antics. Arguably Beck is somewhat the same on the right, although not as cynical or in love with his looks all the time. I have found Chris Matthews to be just sort of worn out and disfunctional. He has been around the block too long and has unfortunatelyt become another uber liberal (not the case a few years ago). Bill O’Reily on Fox should be commended on having both liberals and conservatives on his show to generally debate an issue in a civilized manner; his show is getting better all the time. I am impressed with Morning Joe on MSNBC where Joe Scarborough (center right) is teamed up with Mika Brzinski (center left); probably the best pairing on TV. Discussions are generally very civil with honest debate. Given this show is on MSNBC it is skewed left however with its guest, but I think this show is as close to reasonable and serious discussion/debate as there is on television. What do you think?

  8. Mike

I feel sorry for Scarborough… he’s the ONLY balanced one there at MSNBC, Don’t care much for Mika but as you say, it’s a good pairing (so far). When I occasionally watch, and they’re talking about some serious issue, she always seems annoyed at everything. But as Joe has shown in the past, he doesn’t take any crap from anyone especially Keith and Chris!

The “polarization” that you describe already began on day one of Bush’s presidency, not Obama’s as so many would accuse us of. Anyone still remember the presidentail limo covered in eggs when Bush was enroute to the inauguration on the 1st term?

Politics (and polititians) have always been corrupt (with a few exceptions) and it’s only now within the past decade or so with the advent of the internet and 24hr news channels that the “watchful eyes” have gotten bigger.

In Cronkite’s day, Washington was afraid of him and kept a low profile because America watched Walter every night. When Walter retired, no one took over the reigns of being “America’s watchdog” figure. Now since Fox has stood on their “fair and balanced” approach (even with a few skews here and there occasionally) they now have taken the title of the “new watchdogs” with Beck leading the charge.

  9. Janet

Oh; did Morning Joe show the Acorn scandals? Did they try to stop this racism smear that is going on? I want to hear about issues which concern my future, Czars. Acorn, Cap and Trade, health Care, BIG BIG BIG OUT OF CONTROL GOVERNMENT SPENDING!!!!!! BUT I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR I AM A RACIST. Glenn Beck did not put on a show about racism as Brian Williams did, for Williams and the other whacked out media clearly that is much more a bigger issue than Acorn “BIG GOVERNMENT”!!!!

  10. infantryman

    Oberman has penis envy …

  11. TD

No question Fox is killing the competition but it’s worth noting MSNBC posted some good numbers compared to what they’ve done in the past few months. Based on my tracking data it looks like that’s the highest number for Rachel Maddow in months. The increased interest in politics because of the healthcare debate really helps Fox but it may also be helping MSNBC a bit.

  12. infantryman

Sharon, your a retard .. put the crack pipe down and move away slowly..

  13. Mike

To Infantryman…. I don’t think anyone could’ve said it better! LMAO!!

To TD…. I really don’t think anything is helping BSNBC, the numbers will be short lived. People can only take so much of being called “hate mongers and racists” before realising that the shows in question are all BS.

And now with that fool Carter calling everyone racists along with some new faces on the hill, the argument is going to get real old real fast.

The nutjobs are running out of things to accuse of of being.

The bump for BSNBC is because school break is over, vacations are ended, and the far left students have come back from there communes, or there rich daddies yacht, and are now learning more about the greatness of the socialist ideals. That’s Ubberdouches and his illegitimate son Ragging Madcow’s prime viewership.

  15. 0megapart!cle

The slobbering vitriol that the right spews on a daily basis is pretty amazing to watch on this thread and Faux News. MSNBC is almost always the Number 1 legitimate news source in the country, and that shows that most people don’t gravitate to hate-mongering liars. It gives me hope for this country.

  16. shane2813

The Great Massiah Obama is single handedly destroying the democrat party. Everything he touches turns to dust. It’s almost like he’s doing it on purpose. I have never seen anything like this. They roll out Jimmy Carter the ANTI-SEMITE to call everyone who disagrees with him a racist. The head of his own Presidential library quit because he couldn’t stomach Carter. Carter is the one who referred to Obama as “BOY”. You leftist Democrats have gone nuts!!!!! The Democrats have turned into the Atheist pervert childmolesting party. MARXIST=DEMOCRATS=TERRORIST All the same Ask the ANTI-SEMITE Racist Jimmy Carter from the south.

  17. LizS

I have to say in response OmegaParticle that describing MSNBC as the only ‘legitimate’ news source is walking a fine line and not at all accurate – it that sort of attitude on the left that has allowed Fox to reach such high ratings. They appeal to level headed people who don’t like being called racists and fear-mongering liars. Numbers don’t lie – Fox dominates.

  18. manny2066

Honestly I used to watch only CNN and MSNBC.One day I was watching Foxnews and guess what? I’ve been watching faxnews ever since and I am proud of it. They live up with their slogan as ‘fair and balance’ and I am a Democrat….sadddddddddddddd….

  19. Laura

First time I’ve seen O’Reilly get 4 million viewers. He is absolutely clobbering Olbermann.

  20. Ed

The referee needs to call this fight before someone gets killed!
