John, please stop spamming the comments with info that’s already in the posts. Thank you!
Sorry just want those that seem to ignore the facts that FNC is consistantly capturing better then 50+% of the viewers…and want them to tune in to find out why…
OK John, we’re not that dumb…thanks.
And if anyone cares, CNBC Reports got the axe effective immediately.
Why delete the data? Just curious. I add the % and totals to show folks quickly and easily what % share each time slot is getting.. That is not part of the data presented. That is why I run it daily. Just my little mission once I stumbled on to the site. I have a question regarding the coverage numbers..if all things are equal would the numbers be greater for FNC since they are only in 94 Mil hh vs 98 Mil hh for CNN.
I’m pleased to see Big Ed becoming more popular on MSNBC. I enjoy Ed, Keith and Rachel. I would never watch Fox News, however, I tried years ago, but was turned off when token Progressives were cut off constantly in mid-sentence. That show is only Fair and Balanced to their right wing viewers.
One of this year’s biggest stories is how Fox News has humiliated the “mainstream media,” making them look like biased losers and clueless DNC clones.
The fall of the mainstream media is on rapid acceleration mode, only they are too out of touch to even realize they’re on life support with the general public.
Beck would do 4 million daily in prime time. Fox is missing out on a huge viewership spike by keeping him in the bad time slot.
John, sorry about that. I didn’t look at it closely enough and I doubt anyone else does either. So looking at the comments in the admin screens it just looks…like spam. I worry it would for everyone else too though and you’re only giving share of the cable news universe and not the entire universe. I also think the numbers speak well enough for themselves and where rooting interests are involved, adding additional slices of analysis when the numbers are already pretty stark in their differences isn’t so meaningful. But I didn’t realize what I had deleted involved additional work, and I apologize.
We don’t believe that the difference in coverage between say 98 million and 94 million homes are particularly meaningful. I don’t think the increases would amount to the % difference in the coverage. However, though we don’t post them (or get them, even, in the case of cable news) there is metric called coverage rating and they are used quite often by PR. Rather than rate you against the entire universe of TV homes, you only get rated against the universe where you’re available. So in that scenario, if a network with 94 million homes coverage had say the exact same 25-54 viewers as a network with 98 million coverage, the “coverage rating” with adults 25-54 for the 94 million home network would be higher, even though the actual viewer numbers were the same.
@John
Regardless of what everyone says, I happen to like more data and I like the percentage share pretty cool. P.S its even why Nielsen themselves has a “rating” and a “share”.
It does my heart good to see FNC on top of the ratings. I stay well informed watching Shep, Bret, Bill and Sean.
One question, where can I find the numbers for all of the morning shows on cable news. Would like to see the ratings for America’s News HQ, Happening Now and The Live Desk!
Red eye would get great #’s at 12 in the east, imho.
Well, Ive selected every media outlet in the planet for my health care blitz on Sunday except for FNC, because I want to reach the broadest viewership possible.
Oh Crap, Gibbs–look at these numbers on Fox News!
Naa . . . I’d better stick with the plan. Can’t take any chances there. By preaching to the choir, there is no incentive to trip me up in my own verbal slights of hand.
fix news liers fake news
Jesus….leave this site for an hour or a week and when you come back its still the same…..different day….same
groundhogs! Its interesting that those of you (post #1, #10) who now say that FNC is the new
MSM might find it interesting that on average the MSM you so vilify in these post averages 19.5 million viewers per night. Looks like a lot of left-wingers out there watching the as you say Obama channels!! Compared to the on average 3-4 million for FNC…or just to pad these useless numbers lets add all of FNCs programs from 5 to 11 for a total of around 16 million viewers. Ofcourse you cant really do that because no doubt all of you FNC viewers watch All of your Fox News heros so the true average of 3-4 million would be correct compared to 19.5 million per night for us MSM types who revel in Obamanomics!!!! Weve had this discussion before but you guys insist on comparing the leftist MSM with FNC…. No doubt some of you have fingers quivering as we speak. Ready to refutiate these facts….cant compare broadcast and cable..cant compare a halfhour broadcast news program to a 6 hour cable program and such. Youll find something to say even though YOU made the analogy to start with. Go ahead guys!! Type away!!! The bottom line- 19.5 million left-wingers beats 5 million right-wingers anyday!!!!! And as far as FNC being the new MSM channel, it is sorry to say a figment of your own imagination! Copying one of your own childish expressions let me end by saying – MSM rocks baby!
Beck has the correct moniker for the old mainstream media – it is now the Fringe Media. Rather appropriate when you think that the aging liberals who cling to their radical bias were hippies, living on the fringe, in their youth.
