From what I'm being told, Hulu has a very clear plan for the offering from a technical standpoint, but still is not completely sure how to roll it out product wise or what exactly the business terms will be. While the technical piece of such an offering would have some complexity to it, the real challenging piece of the offering would be the business terms with content owners.

It was bound to happen. Would not be surprised if YouTube starts some sort of pay “premium service” for copyrighted material.

ugh…the problem with this is anyone can download these shows for free now…us as a consumer want to watch these shows on hulu…and we don’t even mind the commercials…but if we have to pay for it…then bye bye hulu…hello bit torrent for all.

Think of what happened to Napster and the rise of iTunes. Content providers want every possible bit of revenue thay can get for their content and will take legal action if necessary. Free ad-based downloads is akin to broadcast and cable nets programming and subscriber-based downloads will be akin to HBO and Showtime or even Netflix. There surely is room for both.

Once again, the greed of corporations is going to kill something good. Big surprise.

Or how about a business providing something for our entertainment and we refuse to abide by the rules so they can make a profit (which is why there in this business to make an evil profit). So in turn they can make more entertainment.
