With a Monday Night Football doubleheader to start the NFL season,  ESPN maintained its lock on cable primetime for the week of September 14-20. It was first in both average viewership and average adults 18-49 by wide margins. In second place was non-sports season leader USA, third in viewership was Fox News, and third in adults 18-49 was TBS.

Nickelodeon, of course, took the #1 spot for Total Day cable viewers but ESPN came as close as any network has in recent memory in second.
