Overwhelmed by the official start of the broadcast primetime season, I forgot to post the numbers for last night's late night shows where a visit from the president led David Letterman and Late Show to a wide margin of victory.
- In preliminary household metered markets DAVE and Late Show dominated with a visit from president Obama with a 5.6/14 (household rating/share) compared to Conan's 1.9/5.
- It was Letterman's best showing in four years. Comparably, when Obama visited with Tonight Show in March when Leno was still hosting, it did an 11.2 household rating
- Dave and Late Show had a 1.8/8 rating with adults 18-49 compared to Conan O'Brien's TONIGHT SHOW1.0/4 in Nielsen's 24 local markets with People Meters (currently excluding Atlanta). Conan also finished behind Late Show in adults 18-34 (0.8/4 vs. 1.1/5).
- At 12:35 a.m., Jimmy Fallon (0.6/4 in 18-49 in local people meters) trailed CBS's LATE Late Show (0.9/6). Fallon also finished behind Ferguson in 18-34 (0.6/4 vs. 0.5/4).
