"CSI: NY" Posts Best Deliveries in Viewers and Adults 18-49 in Nearly a Year
CBS placed first in viewers and adults 18-49 on the first Wednesday of the new season led by the season premieres of Criminal Minds and CSI: NY and strong returns for the 8:00-9:00 PM comedy block, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sept. 23.
THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE (P) (4.6/08, 7.17m) was tied for second in adults 25-54 (2.8/09, with NBC) and averaged a 2.2/07 in adults 18-49. This is the best delivery of THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE in adults 25-54 since March 18, 2009 and in adults 18-49 since Nov. 19, 2008. CHRISTINE was up +10% in viewers (from 6.53m) and +5% in adults 18-49 (from 2.1/06) versus last year's premiere.
GARY UNMARRIED (P) (4.3/07, 6.86m) was tied for second in adults 25-54 (2.9/08, with NBC) and averaged a 2.3/07 in adults 18-49. This is the best delivery of GARY UNMARRIED in viewers and adults 25-54 since Apr. 8, 2009 and in adults 18-49 since Mar. 11, 2009.
At 9:00 PM, Criminal Minds (P) was first in households (9.6/15), viewers (15.84m), adults 25-54 (5.6/14) and adults 18-49 (4.4/12). This is the best delivery for Criminal Minds in households since Dec. 17, 2008, in both viewers and adults 25-54 since Nov.19, 2008 and in adults 18-49 since last season's premiere on Sept. 24, 2008. Criminal Minds is the night's #1 program in viewers, adults 18-49 (tied) and adults 25-54.
At 10:00 PM, CSI: NY (P) was first in households (9.2/16), viewers (15.06m), adults 25-54 (5.0/13) and adults 18-49 (4.0/11). CSI: NY posted its best delivery in both households and adults 25-54 since Nov. 19, 2008, in both viewers and adults 18-49 since Oct. 8, 2008.
For the night, CBS was first in households (7.8/13), viewers (12.64m), adults 25-54 (4.5/12) and adults 18-49 (3.6/10) for the second consecutive night.
Awesome! Criminal Minds is a fantastic show. I’m happy to for once be a fan of a show that isn’t in danger of not returning next year.
One of the best cast series on television. Creative, intellectual… I love it. Couldn’t wait for it to premier, and presumptively, it will be back again next year.
