And yet Matthews and Maddow keep their jobs. Amazing. Unbelievably amazing.
Beck has nearly 6 viewers for every 1 that Matthews has. This is the largest ratio of any of the FOX/MSNBC matchups including O’Reilly/Olbermann.
Matthews and Maddow keep their jobs because MSNBC cares about journalistic quality and the quality of the audience, whereas Hannity and co enjoy spreading proveable lies and ill researched garbage to the lowest common denominator of US society. I also wonder why people keep posting endless ‘Look, Fox has triple the ratings of MSNBC’ stories repeatedly. We get the picture. It’s not going to change. Fox has the quantity, MSNBC has the quality. So what? and why post essentially the same story over and over?
I will watch Sean Hannity over Ralph Maddow anyday.
I was going to respond to GMJH until I realized that he was joking.
I have never heard such a joke that MSNBC cares about anything other than the corporate exploits of their parent company GE, which survived from a freaking taxpayer bailout.
Just because a media source is liberal does not for a minute make it any more accurate than the other side of the coin. It just means GMJH agrees with the liberal slant versus Fox’s slant.
Presumably a person who calls themselves something as laughably nationalistic and ridiculous as ‘liberty lover’ is a joke as well?
Let the conservative circle-jerk begin.
Beck is the best comedy show on cable. Howard Beale re-incarnated.
Fred
Here’s the latest lie from Fox (they have at least one a week) This isn’t a ‘slant’, it’s an out and out simple bald faced lie
“How did, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, and CNN miss this story?” Fox’s newspaper ad asks.
The answer: They didn’t.

I was listening to Hannity on the radio and he called an isolationist a liberal. I loled so hard at his complete lack of knowledge.
GMJH, I would question if you even watch MSNBC. If so how can you say they care about their “journalistic quality and the quality of the audience”? Do they do that by the massively one sided opinions, or by constantly insulting large parts of the country, or by continuously attacking another news network?
MSNBC is preaching to a very small choir. The people that watch MSNBC and swallow their bait hook line and sinker, will never change their opinion. MSNBC is very shallow and childish with their shows.
Also GMJH, the better question to ask is why do the other Networks feel so threatened by FNC that they have to worry about stupid things like that ad and “story”. Couldn’t CNN come up with anything original or of their own reportings instead of worrying about what FNC is doing? Maybe if they worried about themselves as much their ratings would be higher?
Charlie, I do watch MSNBC , sometimes. I watch CNN more. People like Rachel Maddow are clearly sharp and insightful and clever. Admittedly Olbermann can be way over the top. People like Hannity and O’Reilly however are simply downright dumb at times and factually incorrect, and people like Beck are loud weepingly sentimental and emotionally out of control. I think this reflects in the different audiences too. Theres a lot more dumb sentimental out of control Glen Beck type people in the USA than there are smart and rational Rachel Maddow ones.
Charlie, you implicitly stated that Fox does not lie and implicitly asked for a Fox lie
I gave you the latest one
it’s not something “stupid” as you said, it’s a flat out lie about all the other news organisations.
If they can lie like that to other stations, how much can they lie to their own viewers?
We Americans need to stop this nonsense dipicted by shows like the Glenn Beck circus, the Hannity fake Macho right-wing outcry, and the Bill O’Reilly’s BullSh*T factor. All of these guys sound like they are preaching, but they are a tool for Corporate America. They make millions of dollars and brain-wash a bunch of Americans who are maily uneducated, live in a fear factor, and mainly white Americans. The Right-wing America is starting to look more like the Modern-day version of KKK. This stupid blaming game has to stop.
We need to go beyond our political ideologies and political affiliations. This country is at cross-roads. If we don’t fix our problems with logic and practicality, we are doomed and we will go bankrupt as a nation.
We need to stop this nonsense preached by of bunch of idiots who make millions of dollars at the expense of right-wing or conservative Republicans. We need a new party of thinkers and rational minds.
Then like I said your their perfect viewer. What sucks for them is there is only a very few of you. Most people who watch cable news obviously see over their shallow game.
Most people who watch cable news obviously like getting differing opinions on the air, they like being able to hear both sides of the storys presented, and they don’t like being insulted in the dumbest childish ways.
Oh and judging by your last sentence, you very much are the perfect MSNBC viewer, thanks for proving my point. Like MSNBC you just baselessly insulted the larger part of the cable news watching population who doesn’t like watching MSNBC. THANKS, for making my point so perfectly and easily for me.
Yes it is stupid. Your pointing that out as a FNC lie. Wow, who cares how much covereage or lack there of other networks gave to the event? Anybody actually care about that at all?
Your saying FNC is nothing but lies, yet thats the best you can come up with at the “moment”?
Has anyone stopped to consider that one likely reason FOX viewership is so high is because it is the ONLY station that caters to a conservative audience? Approximately half the population has ONE source of news that they believe is fair. Liberals can tune in to just about any station and be fat and happy with what they hear. Maybe this is why FOX numbers are just about equal to all the other cable news networks combined! 50/50 … just a thought.
MSNBC is great for the frustrated and simple minded loons…because they get one side of the story with no debate…nothing to think about. OMG they still complain about Bush…lol..Google; “Obberman the idiot”, and see how many hits you get…lol
