Just another indication of how challenged the left is when it comes to economics. In a free market system like we “still” have, when one advertiser pulls for what ever reason from a popular venue like the Glenn Beck Show there are three who have studied the demographics and vie to take their place. Lots of advertisements for Gold and other investors taking their place.

you’d be wrong. The reason these things “weren’t investigated” is simple…..they WERE and there was nothing to it. You know if there was every single news outlet would’ve jumped all over it. C’mon now….EVERY news entity (including FOX) was all over Bush. If he didn’t recycle his cans it was front page news. As for Global warming….thats not an issue. Most scientist agree the earth is in a warming trend. The question is, is it “man made”? NO scientist can prove that so it makes it a theory and NOT fact. One thing that has been agreed on is there is nothing man can do to change the climate. I find it suspicious that the founder of the weather channel diasgreed with the “man made” theory and so did alot of the meteorologists at the station. They were all fired and let go after G.E bought the station. (Note: GE is the leader in selling “green” technology AND owner of NBC, MSNBC, and CNBC) Hmmmm, suspicious to me. Last point….saying that all those media outlets are contolled by conservatives takes all credibilty away from all your posts…you know thats not true, I know thats not true and everybody else knows thats not true. C’mon now, really?!

The ‘funny’ thing about science is that everybody can find data, statistics and experts that agree with their point of view. No one will ever be satisfied with the amount of data, or number of experts their opposition puts forth; especially when the topic is as politically charged as GW.

A wise colleague of mine once told me “If you want to resolve a problem quickly, find an expert. If you never want it resolved, find two experts”

For me the most important part of the article states:

You have to hide this information when you are deceiving people, like OISM. The climate science that supports the GW hypothesis is overwhealming and peer-reviewed.

The ‘Scientists’ say they have it right this time. I sure hope so, because we are poised to invest a lot of sweat, money, and tears into fixing it.

I’ve done quite a bit of research lately and over the course of the last 100 years or so, scientists have almost continuously warned that the climate was changing … and at least through the 1970′s they were always wrong. I’m not sure which side to root for. If global warming is as bad as they say, we are basically hosed. If it’s not, our economy is still hosed, because were about to throw a lot of money down a big rat hole. I don’t really like either outcome ;-(

I have a vague memory of the global cooling theory, but I was in college then and was busy with studies. I guess scientists had some reasonable evidence back then for global cooling, but today’s evidence for global warming is so overwhealming that NASA, our Pentagon, every foreign government, many oil company executives, and even GW Bush have acknowledged it as a serious threat.

But even as the earth warms overall, the disruption of ocean currents that carry warm water northward could mean some areas experience extreme cooling. Parts of Europe are very concerned about that.

In hindsight, it’s a tragedy that Gore wasn’t elected in 2000. Just think how much further along we would be fighting global warming and avoiding all the other Bush catastrophes.

Don’t shoot the messenger. I didn’t produce or promulgate the hypothesis that we were entering an ice age in 1975. My point is that is what we were being told about it by Newsweek, Meteorologists and Scientists from the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, researchers from Columbia University and the University of Wisconsin, my 5th Grade Science Teacher, etc., etc. According to the media and scientific community at the time, this was ‘settled’ science; and we needed to act fast to save the planet from turning into a ball of ice. If you let your mom use an aerosol hair-spray, you were unpatriotic and didn’t care about ‘global cooling’. There were a few scientists who did not believe all that ‘ice age’ stuff … but they were crazy fringe scientists.

Just thought I’d see if anyone else remembers the days we were being fed that story. I do. You just can’t make it up …

I guess I was hoping there’d be less daily readers posting on this. It appears to have grown feral, and if the thread were on another site, perhaps humorous.
