Carried by key series “Zeke and Luther,” “Phineas and Ferband “Aaron Stone,” along with theatricals “Meet the Robinsons,” “The Incredibles” and “Ratatouille,” Disney XD delivered its largest quarterly audience in the net’s history in Total Day (includes Toon Disney) in Total Viewers (272,000) and across all key kid targets, specifically Kids 6-14 (134,000) and Boys 6-14 (82,000), posting solid double-digit percent increases in all key breaks.

Impressively, Disney XD was the growth leader among all kid-targeting cable networks in Total Day in Kids 6-14 (+47% - 134,000 vs. 91,000), Boys 6-14 (+37% - 82,000 vs. 60,000), Kids 6-11 (+43% - 107,000 vs. 75,000), Boys 6-11 (+32% - 66,000 vs. 50,000), Tweens 9-14 (+76% - 81,000 vs. 46,000) and Boys 9-14 (+67% - 50,000 vs. 30,000).

In Prime, 3Q09 wrapped as Disney XD’s most-watched quarter on record across target measures including Kids 6-14 (147,000), Tweens 9-14 (86,000) and Boys 9-14 (94,000).  In addition, Disney XD was the quarter’s growth leader among all cable networks in Kids 6-14 (+63% - 147,000 vs. 90,000) and Tweens 9-14 (+126% - 86,000 vs. 38,000), and the leader of all kid cable networks in Total Viewers (+27% - 307,000 vs. 242,000), Boys 6-14 (+38% - 94,000 vs. 68,000), Kids 6-11 (+50% - 117,000 vs. 78,000) and Boys 9-14 (+104% - 57,000 vs. 28,000).

Programming Highlights

  • In its primary Monday, 8:30 p.m. time period, “Zeke and Luther” delivered sizeable increases over year-ago time period averages across the board, including by more than double in Kids 6-14 (+111% - 245,000 vs. 116,000), Boys 6-14 (+107% - 176,000 vs. 85,000), Tweens 9-14 (+136% - 130,000 vs. 55,000) and Boys 9-14 (+131% - 97,000 vs. 42,000).   In Total Viewers, the series out-performed year-ago levels by a considerable 46% (417,000 vs. 286,000).
  • Ranking a competitive 4th in its time period in Boys 6-14, Kids 6-11 and Boys 6-11,Phineas and Ferb” (Mondays, 8:00 p.m.) registered huge increases over year-ago time period levels in all key demos, including by 88% in Total Viewers (599,000 vs. 318,000), by 152% in Kids 6-14 (315,000 vs. 125,000) and across all key boy targets: +121% in Boys 6-14 (217,000 vs. 98,000), +116% in Boys 6-11 (173,000 vs. 80,000) and +138% in Boys 9-14 (112,000 vs. 47,000).
  • In its Monday 9:00 p.m. time slot, “Aaron Stone” outdelivered year-ago time period levels across key demos, specifically by 66% in Kids 6-14 (161,000 vs. 97,000) and by 54% in Boys 6-14 (120,000 vs. 78,000).

Disney XD is a basic cable channel and multi-platform brand that showcases a compelling mix of live-action and animated programming for Kids age 6-14, hyper-targeting boys and their quest for discovery, accomplishment, sports, adventure and humor. Disney XD branded content spans television, online, mobile and VOD platforms. The programming includes series, movies and short-form, as well as sports-themed programming developed with ESPN. In the U.S., Disney XD premiered on a 24-hour, advertiser supported network (formerly known as Toon Disney) that reaches over 72 million households via its basic cable affiliates.
