A couple grad students I know used to like Olbermann and Morning Joe, but their cable provider moved it to the deluxe package.

On the eve of the collapse of our entire economic system, GW was playing grab ass with athletes in Beijing for 4 DAYS….and Fox, WSJ and people like Rush didn’t say a word about it.

The thing the leaders of the party don’t get is that rooting against an American city getting the Olympics, and hoping out loud that the stimulus and health care reform fail is in essence rooting AGAINST the people of the United States. Republicans are so lost right now, that all they can do is disrupt and obstruct.

And when the stimulus starts to make real positive changes (as it already is) and more people have affordable health care – the Republicans can look back to 2009 as the year they dug their hole so deep they couldn’t get out of it.

The reason a lot of people were against Obama going to pitch for the Olympics is because he has strong ties in Chicago and it appears he is just trying to help out his cronies. I doubt many people would have cared if he would have tried to get the Olympics in a different American city. Can you imagine the Dems if Bush had try to get the Olympics in Dallas?

Nearly 1.3 million viewers a night watch his show, but dont let the facts get in the way of your sky is falling argument.

If you had been watching, you would know he takes the President Obama and the Blue Dog Democrats to task nearly every night. But since you only check out the talking points that are picked up from Breithbart or some other right wing hate monger – you only get the negative stuff about the right.

Keith is smart, funny, intelligent and 9/10 RIGHT. He has a crack staff of researchers and consistently rips the right a new one, while using their own words to do so.

-John Boehner complaining about President Obama going to Denmark for 18 hours to campaign for the Olympics. Wait, didn’t President Bush go to Beijing for 4 DAYS last summer on the eve of the collapse of our economy? Republicans had nothing to say about that trip thought, did they? LOL.

-Fox playing a tape over and over with school children singing about President Obama….when you can easily go on you tube and find SEVERAL songs sung by kids to President and Laura Bush. So wait, one is “indoctrination” and one is “patriotism”….what a bunch of jokers.

I don’t watch his show on MSNBC nor do I spend much time watching any of the talking heads pursuing their political agendas. Some may mock me for watching sports more than anything else, but I’m a hell of a lot less stressed than the rest of you seem to be.

There’s a big differnce between nationalism and socialism. And you have yet to prove to me that he is what your party has spun him as. What exactly would you like to enforce the illegals part of the health care debate? You want everyone who goes into a hospital to get checked for I.D. The reason they’ve been slow on health care is because the Republicans have made the issue seem controversial when in fact it’s not. A majority of Americans want a public option, they want health care reform. We have almost 50 million people without it. The Republicans are hoping that healthcare doesn’t pass so that way they might actually have a shot at winning next year. As for the “radicals” who he surrounded himself with, that was one person, a Yale graduate and author who can now do more right under Becks radar and accomplished much more in his life than believeing in a form of communism years ago. By the way, where did you hear about all that stuff with czars wanting to make this country more like venezuala or allowing children to have sex with older men? And why are they going after indivifuals who are basically middle men insead of the leader. Why not call for his resignation? Because Beck will never admit his true colors until Obama gets re-elected.

I’m not a BO adoring fan though, even if I do watch his show frequently. He basically skipped over much of the Prop 8 fallout that happened in California where prop 8 supporters lost their jobs, houses got vandalized, internet sites were set up with personal information about the donors so people could avoid them… basically the 1950′s communist list all over again. No mention from Fox News about any of this.

He’ just gone a little tone deaf. If you want to play populist, then you need to think like the population.

When Dan Patrick had his radio show on ESPN radio a few years back, he wanted to bring Olbermann on his show as a regular. ESPN gave Patrick his wish but Olby had to do his part from a studio in New York. He was not allowed to set foot on the ESPN campus. So, if he ever decides to return to sports full time. It won’t be with ESPN, or FOX Sports (he got fired there).

CNN/SI doesn’t look good either. Since Parick moved his radio show there, Olby hasn’t been on. Patrick has had everybody else from the Sunday Football Show on. But not Olby.

Read into that what you wish.

As for CNN and MSNBC during the election there was a reason to tune into those channels but now you just don’t have to, you can go anywhere else briefly to get caught up but if your a conservative you don’t have the same option.

Bob- the only problem with this arguement is Fox News has always towered over CNN and MSNBC….even when the GOP held the WH and both chambers….it’s not as though there was a major shift in ratings following any election…

I personally do not watch the show as I do not have cable television. I am too busy working, reading books and watching DVD’s. However, I often watch segments of his show on Youtube and elsewhere. I generally find him moderate, insightful, entertaining, refreshing, truthful and intelligent. I am happy that his show is doing extremely well.

As for ratings moderates and liberals are much more interested in other things right now with Democrats in control of everything so CNN and MSNBC just have low interest. And Fox news is the only place conservatives can go to be told what they believe is true so Fox keeps high ratings, and I am almost 100% sure Fox will be number one for a very long time.

A real socialist would have TRULY nationalized those companies–he did the minimum possible, and in so doing, prevented our economy from collapsing due to the incompetence of the very people you’d like to see running our country. You’re welcome.

O’Reilly, Beck, Hannity, and the other spewers of REAL hate (not righteous anger, because they can’t do that)–they may love their ratings, but they wanted to win the election. They wanted that so badly. They bought into their own garbage. And they lost.

Olbermann and Maddow kicked the crap out of them in the only meaningful way–by having the party and candidate they supported win a huge victory.

And I think Olbermann & Maddow are perfectly fine with losing some viewers, in exchange for helping to defend Democracy against those who hold it in contempt.

And anybody who watches FOX News holds Democracy in contempt.

Because they still think the majority only rules if the majority is THEM.

Olbermann is getting lower ratings because the people who watch him have LIVES.

He’s not about hate–he’s about truth. And he’s criticized Obama CONSTANTLY. And far more cogently than FOX News ever will.

How do you compete with the crazy people on FOX News? They have a captive audience, who aren’t content with criticism–they want their talking heads calling Obama a racist, a fascist, a communist, the freakin’ ANTICHRIST. These are tiny #’s we’re talking about, for all of them. Most people aren’t watching cable news at all.

Fox News wins by being willing to totally disregard any sense of truth or decency, and just appeal to the very worst in human nature.
