I'm so glad to hear that SS has revamped a few things. I grew up watching it with my brother and there is comfort in turning on the TV and hearing Bob and Gordon's voice teaching my 2 year old the same lessons they taught me over 30 years ago.

I was a bit surprised to see the same old faded animations being played. I really hope some of the old cartoons will be redrawn and played with new soundtracks. I think 35 years of running the same 2 minute cartoon is long enough. I bought some dvd's for my little one and was very disappointed to see that they were filled with the old counting cartoons that played when I was a preschooler. Some were so faded that they were practically white. While it was fun to hear those songs again and realize that I still remember them after all of these years, it's great to hear that SS is stepping up their game a bit.

I can't wait to set the DVR for the new season! The guest list is very impressive!

We love Sesame Street in our house but are so tired of the reruns. In fact, we didn't even know that SS was still being produced!

I see that this is supposed to show on PBS Kids, which we have thru DirecTV, as PBS Kids Sprout, but all they ever show are really old episodes. Sometimes we see more recent episodes on the standard PBS channel, and can even get them in HD, but certainly not anything as recent as the last few years.

Can anyone tell me where exactly we can pick up these newer episodes? My toddler (and her mommy and daddy) would greatly appreciate it!

There is no veggie monster! Cookie Monster still eats cookies, he hasn't changed. The poor guy sang one song about healthy eating, "Healthy Food", and suddenly he's branded a veggie monster. Never fear, the Muppets indeed live on, bless 'em all.
