Pushing Daisies

I was going to try to cram this into the overnight post, but that just makes people scroll more to find the overnight data.   But I found the comparisons for the same night year over year pretty interesting.  Here are some highlights (all compare last night to what was on Wednesday, October 1, 2008)

FOX improved a lot on the night, largely because Glee's 3.2 adults 18-49 rating was nearly 100% greater than 1 hour of Til Death a year ago (1.7, 1.5).

So You Think You Can Dance and its 2.7 were not as strong as Bones and its 3.1 one year ago, however, SYTYCD was stronger with the 18-34 crowd (2.9 vs. 2.4)

Before you go getting too attached to Eastwick, last night's 2.5/7 was less than Dirty Sexy Money's 2.7/7 the year before, however that was DSM's season premiere.

The combo of Hank (2.2) and The Middle (2.5) were better than the premiere of Pushing Daisies a year earlier (2.1).

How bad was it for NBC?

  • Knight Rider (2.5) > Mercy (2.1)
  • America's Got Talent (3.3) > L&O: SVU (2.5)  (AGT ran later last year)
  • Lipstick Jungle (2.1) > The Jay Leno Show (1.9)

I expected that SYTYCD would do almost as good as Bones and I thought SVU would do better than its doing. Knight Rider doing better than Mercy is sad, but it just shows how weak NBC’s drama department is.

Hank and The Middle premiered better than Pushing Daisies but it was the series premiere, expect Hank and The Middle to go down considerably from now. Eastwick is already doing worse than Dirty Sexy Money so its easily gone by November. Like wednesday last year 8-9 and 10-11 will keep dropping while 9-10 should hold up steady.

LOL poor NBC…just can’t get a break, can they?

So Jay Leno is the smallest drop for NBC. Hmm.
