Note: coverage of live events like last night's ABC College Football telecast makes ABC's numbers approximate and subject to greater than normal adjustment. See below for more information on these Fast Affiliate ratings.
ABC's Saturday Night College Football (which I believe was USC v. Cal on the West coast in most of the country, although may have been and Oklahoma v. Miami as well in the rest of the country) again won the night. As usual, Fox's reality crime duo of Cops America's Most Wanted delivered its 1.5 18-49 demo rating for second.

Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs which are currently in approximately 24.4% of all U.S. TV households. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

I dont get it, why are so many people watching big shows in UK but in America the whole Satruday lineup is sh..?
Luckily I got to watch the Miami game and see Jacory Harris get the win.
Berman corrected Trauma to 0.9.
“I dont get it, why are so many people watching big shows in UK but in America the whole Satruday lineup is sh..?”
Because you’re a “loser” if you’re young stay at home on a Friday or Saturday in the USA. I’m one of those “losers” and my family reminds me of this all the time…
The average hour on a big four network on Friday had a 1.3 demo rating. On Saturday, it had a 1.5. That is how pathetic Fridays have become: they are being beaten by Saturdays. (I counted Trauma as 1.0 because that is consistent with NBC’s average.)
(Even with a corrected 0.9 for Trauma.)
It was Oklahoma v. Miami in most of the country, USC v. Cal on the west coast.
0.9 is the real rating
Yeah, as Eddie said:

Thanks, Ron, updated the post.
Eddie , thanks, I updated the post, but will keep the headline and photo. Too much trouble to change those!
I really dont think anyone cares about saturdays. But its always nice to see the numbers
The USC-California game was poor. USC’s defense stifled the California offense most of the way. I would have rather seen the Oklahoma-Miami game.
I’m digging Sat night football on ABC even if I don’t have much of an interest in the teams they typcially air. I just love the sport particularly on the collegiate level. THAT being said I’m glad we got the OU / UM game. I know that Fox’s NFL numbers are up this year. What with the competing networks offering so little variety on Sats I was wondering if ABC is up over years past? Attendance at the games NCAA and Pro is noticeably down this year.
Since USC vs California was so boring, our ABC affiliate was switched over to the Miami vs OU game mid-way through the games.
No one cares about Saturdays because the networks don’t care about Saturdays.
Or Fridays for that matter.
They gave up on those days long ago.
It used to be that Saturdays especially had the cream of the viewing crop. Something changed. It is just that no one is sure what changed. If they knew that, they might be able to program those nights better for those who are at home. My guess is even we old type tv watchers, the baby boomers, are going out on those nights, either to the movies, to dinner, to a kid’s or a grandkid’s school function. Because it isn’t just the demos abandoning network TV those two nights, it is everyone.
What are the ratings for those nights on the kid friendly cable channels?
And my guess is that a lot of network Friday shows are recorded by those who are not home. Saturday would be a good time to watch those. Last night we watched a movie we bought and then watched “48 Hours.” Saturday has become the night to catch up on viewing additional choices. The networks have made that choice easy.
Its just more people are watching TV on weeknights or nights leading in to weeknights (Sun-Thurs) Normally youd think Saturday would be the lowest watch day, but Fridays disaster proves worse. Though saturday is hard to tell because everything except FOX is repeats.
For those of us on the west coast, ABC had a repeat of Greys Anatomy scheduled at 10PM. Are there any numbers on how that did instead of the football?
