Glen Beck = the Jerry Springer of Fox News
looks like Jerry’s kicking msnbc and cnn @sses…
Glenn Beck = TRUTH YOUR AFRAID OF !
I can give credit where credit is due. Glen Beck or whatever his real name is, is a brilliant shock joke, I mean jock. He knows how to market it. If anything he proves how gullible people can be and he is laughing all the way to the bank! Good for him. The American way I say!.
Scared of him? Hardly. I hope he keeps on keepin’ on. He is mariginalizing the xenophobic Conservative movement. Moderates will never respect his histrionics. As Lindsey Graham said, “Only in America can someone make so much money from crying.” Ahhhh, Capitalism. You go Beckie!
GBD–nov 2010 is only a year away. Beck is the loudest voice pointing out to the American people the corruption in this administration and the radicals Obama has in this admin. You had better stop worrying about conservatives who already knew Obama was a socialist and start worrying about the independents( about 35% of Fox’s audience) who are learning about the true Obama from Beck et. al.
BTW folks–M. Moore’s movie bombed this weekend. Not even enough socialists in the Dem party to support his junk this time.
db
2010 is only a year away? I’ll mark that down. Thanks.
For gdb
“None so blind as those that will not see. None so deaf as those who will not hear.”
Glenn Beck is absolutely burying his competition. Why? Because he’s the only cable “journalist” that’s exposing the Obama administration for what I knew they were back in 2008. There’s a LOT of indie’s that are experiencing voters’ remorse, not to mention conservative democrats. We have Mr. Beck to thank for much of this enlightenment/change of heart. 2010 is not soon enough…the GOP takes back the House in a HUGE fashion, Boehner is SOTH, and impeachment proceedings begin. While it wouldn’t pass the Senate, it would lock up BO politically much like what happened to Billy-Bob.
The entire box office was down this weekend not just Michael Moore and I saw the movie and it was a full house and I live in nc a conservative state
mhenry:
Beck is not a journalist. He is a commentator. This admission from his own mouth. There is a vassst difference. Think of it as the difference in an autobiography and a memoir. A memoir is given much more freedom to stretch the truth, as are commentators.
There is no one that has a show on TV like him. That he has carved out a niche in the over crowded market is genius. Much like Jerry Sprionger did. I’ll gladly give him his due. I would argue that it his original format and not his content that is the impetus behind his success. The chalkboard, the tears, the faux patriotism, & the sound bites? Ripe for today’s overly emotional and attention deficit masses.
oetok:
You do get the irony of your posting that? I mean typing something you neither read nor hear? See what a silly argument for either of us to propose?
Numbers don’t lie…there is a shift happening in America. Fewer and fewer are suckling on the bloated teets of Keith Obamaman and the rest of the BSnbc lineup; while The Fox numbers continue to hold and even grow from last years election cycle coverage.
Kenny? I heard M Mooore goes after the corrupt Dems as well as the corrupt Repubs? Hope that’s the case.
You have to remember Michael Moore’s film was just released in select cities. It comes out in wide release in 2 weeks. Last weeks numbers were just of a couple dozen theatres. October 15th is when it’ll be in thousand of theatres across the country.
Julian – You need to get your facts striaght.
[B]ut the biggest disappointment of the weekend is Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story (Overture). After a $57K per theatre average on 4 screens last weekend, the picture broke to a wider 962 locations with terrible results. The “documentary” only sold an estimated $1.3M in tickets to start the weekend, and it will finish at about $3.9M for a PTA of less than $4,000. That soft opening will almost certainly make Capitalism Moore’s weakest-grossing movie since 2002’s Bowling for Columbine ($21.5M domestic gross).
Hannity and Beck almost got O’Reilly! Lets see if he keeps taking fridays off.
gdb- You don’t need to lecture me about the difference between a journalist and a commentator…that’s why I put Journalist in quotes. Did you not notice that? He has carved out a niche, yes…but you’re trying to pigeon-hole his success as if his enormous popularity is easily described. Why don’t you ask Van Jones the difference between a commentator and a journalist? Why don’t you write Robert Gibbs an email and ask him why the WH is addressing Beck’s points on WH.gov websites, if Beck is just a “niche-filler”? Nice try, but you’ve missed the points…not only of Mr. Beck’s message, but mine as well.
mhenry:
I assmumed if one meant commentator one would type er, uh, commentator? Typing “journalist” couldve meant any number of words to describe the Beckster. Sorry i didn’t get your “humor?”
Van Jones is a hack. You’ll get NO argument from me there. Not sure what that has to do with your use of quotation marks. Seems I’m not the only one missing points, eh?
No, I’m not trying to easily describe Beckie’s success. It seems that when people type that he is “starting a movement,” or that “people are waking up,” or they “equate his ratings to intellectual honesty and integrity,” well, that seems like pigeon holing his success. Dontcha think? Since you brought THAT up, albeit off topic, I hope you’ll call those posters out as well?
I was offering my opinion as to what just ONE of the reasons, from a myriad of reasons, that might be a contributing factor into his undeniable success.
Wonder if Mr. AntiCapitalism (Michael Moore)is going to redistribute the wealth he’s making on his movie? Maybe he could give it to Obama and let him redistribute it for him. After all, isn’t capitalism evil? Or does that just count for everyone except for him? lol
dj109:
No actually wealth redistribution does not just apply to Moore nor the President. The largest redistribution of wealth this nation has ever seen occured, thanks to the Bush tax cuts, to the wealthiest top 1% of our country. Odd how when Bush’s redistribution of wealth occured it was capitalism but when it is directed to the middle class it is socialism. Hmmmm.
