Fox is having a good Fall, even the LA Times noticed, and they topped the important 18-49 and 18-34 adults demo groups for the second week of the broadcast primetime season, in the week ending October 4, 2009. The 18-49 race was particularly tightly contested between all 4 big networks. CBS lead the adults 25-54 demo and average viewership for the week.
Sadly, we will no longer be having a Tiny Network Showdown! since MyNetworkTV ratings averages are no longer being reported by Nielsen, since they are no longer classed as a network but are now a "programming service".
Note that the chart includes RATINGS not VIEWERSHIP as was typical in our weekly network ratings posts prior to July, 2009.
You can see past week's broadcast network primetime weekly TV ratings results here.

Each rating point is a percentage of the US TV population in that demographic group and equals: 2.90 million viewers, 1.32 million adults 18-49, 0.68 million adults 18-34 and 1.24 million adults 25-54.

As emily24′s older sister, this is great news for Fox! They deserve this with the quality of programming they’ve been giving us viewers. Also congrats to CBS!
according to this chart, NBC isn’t doing too bad. Tying for #2 in 18-34!
FOX looks like 4th place so far.
R.G. this is one week’s data, and average viewership is economically meaningless. Perhaps I should just leave it off the chart entirely.
I will have the season to date charts tomorrow, but here’s a preview: Fox is the only broadcast network ahead of last season in any of the adult demo groups.
