Head-to-head, FX's Sons of Anarchy bests ABC's the forgotten

Sons of Anarchy on FX

Tuesday night's Sons Of Anarchy scored 3.7 million viewers, while less total viewers than ABC's The Forgotten Sons Of Anarchy rated better with adults 18-49 with a 2.1 rating to The Forgotten's 1.9 rating.   SOA also tied with NBC's The Jay Leno Show, so with the ad-centric adults 18-49 demographic it beat or tied two out of three national broadcast networks from 10-11pm.

That's an impressive performance for FX, but at the same time, a pitiful performance for ABC.

SOA was flat in viewers from the previous week (3.763 million) but up a couple of ticks with adults 18-49.

Wow, very impressive for SOA. Poor forgotten

The Forgotten will be forgotten by ABC by November.

  3. Samuel

    Ha ha

Does this move The Forgotten up on the renew/cancel index? Seems like it should. That’s just sad.

Kudos to Kurt and Co.! SOA ain’t no joke this season!

    Will Mrs Bundy never age?

Tory – Probably. I still think The Forgotten will air hopefully all episodes. I havent forgotten last year when Eli Stone aired in the slot through December. As long as theres Dancing there, I believe new forgotten will air and ABC wont likely replace the series until January. If I ran ABC, Id run Eastwick and The Forgotten at least into December (where since both started early, all 13 episodes should air). Since 2002, the earliest ABC has cancelled a fall drama was Night Stalker on November 14, 2005 and the earliest a drama was “pulled” was Six Degrees on November 8, 2006.

Good to hear. Glad to see a good show actually doing well.

I love Sons of Anarchy (DVR’d Forgotten). I’m so pleased its doing well

We can’t wait to see anything else in “Forgotten’s” timeslot. SOA, Leno & Good Wife are preferable but still not that great. Why did they even bother showing Forgotten’s 3rd week? When Leno and a cable show beat you, ABC has nothing to lose by replacing it with anything ASAP. We’d rather rent a movie.

I said after one week of the forgotten that it would be done.
It’s just bad on so many levels.

I firmly believe that if you can’t beat Leno then you’re a goner.
    That’s the new Renew/Cancel/Leno Index :)

I like to see ABC doing badly. I’m still mad about them cancelling The Norm Show and Clerks: The Animated Series.

SOA is the BEST show on TV right now.
