So, absolutely no improvement over last week.
Frank, from the CW:
“MELROSE PLACE built over last week’s episode in every key category, including 7% in women 18-34 (1.6/4), 10% in adults 18-34 (1.1/3), 9% in women 18-49 (1.2/3), 13% in adults 18-49 (0.9/2) and 10% in viewers (1.6mil).”
Actually Frank Melrose Place did have improvement from last week. Read their press release.
ok…
the most miminal improvement on earth. lol
Err, it’s up 200k total viewers and .1 in all the relevant demos over last week.
That Wed repeat is still a waste of the ANTM lead-in though.
Good Wife is slightly up with total viewers despite dropping 10% in the demo. I will admit that I was down on the show during the summer precisely because of the sorts of demo concerns. The show will still be around until at least March though.
on the major networks, excluding Friday and summers, going below a 2.0 seems to be what seperates Mice and Men. Goodbye, The Forgotten, you will be Forgotten, just like…well I guess that’s my point.
I don’t have my full cable report yet, Robert, but SoA did…
- 3.7 million viewers
- 2.2/4 HH
- 2.1/6 A18-49
Yup. Beat The Forgotten by 0.2 and TIED Leno.
Wow. True Blood, FX Edition?
Well, ‘cept I’m pretty sure a lot more people get FX & True Blood’s avg for its own 2nd season is still significantly higher than Anarchy’s. However, it’s right up there with Mad Men in terms of quality according to reviewers now.
Well, Sans of Anarchy is only five episodes into its season, so it still has time to go up. And as of late FX and HBO have had similar success rates – the last time FX had a real ratings success was what, Nip/Tuck four years ago?
It’s great that NCIS still managed to have 20+ million viewers!
The Good Wife is steady, I wish it go higher in the demo again.
Tuesday is ABC’s biggest problem so far, who thought of scheduling Shark Tank and the forgotten on the same night?
CBS picks up NCIS LA and The Good Wife for a full season

Well, it was a no-brainer
I’m not sure which one will be ABC’s first casualty this year, the forgotten or Hank. Hank may hold on longer only because it’s a 30 min sitcom and ABC would have more trouble filling it’s timeslot.
Wow, I dont think I have ever seen numbers like this from NCIS. They are going to end up as the #1 scripted program of the year.
@Robert
Robert, any way to list the single top ranked cable show in each hour together with the broadcast numbers?
It’d be interesting to see the spread.
Thanks
Tommy – I think Hank will air until November, but its not a matter about having trouble filling the slot. ABC could air a Modern Family repeat in the slot or a Holiday special in the slot (which will preempt The Middle if the special is an hour long). The Forgotten and Eastwick could be like Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money with neither getting additional epsiodes ordered but however stay in the slots until December. Forgotten airs after Dancing so I think ABC will stick with original eps (They wouldnt put repeats on after).Im surprised no one has mentioned Eastwick as being in danger, but numbers for its third episode wont come out until tomorrow so we cant really comment on that. The comedy block will get some retooling by January, but with Lost, Scrubs and Better off Ted returning its hard to predict what ABC will do.
Eddie – While most shows decrease in viewers over time, NCIS is one of the few that has consistently increased in viewers despite initially starting out as “less impressive” in 2003.
Forg – Tuesday at 8 has always been a problem for ABC since CBS has always aired NCIS there, FOX has always had House there, and NBC has always had Biggest Loser. Ever since fall of 2007 (After tuesdays Dancing shifted to 9:00) ABC’s had a problem. Comedy duo Cavemen and Carpoolers couldnt hold up in the slot, last season’s Opportunity Knocks was pulled after 3 eps, Shark Tank will finish on October 20, and V will take over November 3-November 24 and in December holiday specials will liekly air in the slot followed by Scrubs at 9 and Ted at 9:30.
If ABC wants to keep its comedy block, Lost could move to 10. With some retooling. Scrubs and Ted can assume the 8-9 slot while Modern Family and Cougar Town can stay at 9-10. A similiar thing happened when ABC announced its its wednesday January 2007 comedy block, and Lost was set to air at 10 wednesdays. However the block was broken up before Lost even premiered.
I say ABC should move Cougar Town to Tuesdays at 9, followed by a new sitcom or the new version of Scrubs. Modern Family stays at 9 on Wednesdays, with The Middle moving to 9:30.
Scrubs and Ted?
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
You could probably run re-runs of DOLLHOUSE and get the same ratings
