Univision the #1 Broadcast Network in the Country In Overall Prime
On Friday Night Among Adults 18-34 and Teens 12-17
NPM Broadcast Prime Highlights Week of 10/05/09
• Regardless of language, Univision was the #1 broadcast network in the country on Friday night among all Adults 18-34 (1.0 million) and Teens 12-17 (199,000). Additionally, Univision was the #3 network on Friday night among Adults 18-49 (1.7 million), beating ABC, FOX, CW and Telemundo.
• Friday night, Univision had the top 2 ranked primetime programs on television among Adults 18-34, with #1 “Sortilegio” (Love Spell) and #2 “En Nombre del Amor” (In the Name of Love), out-delivering first-run airings of CBS’s “Ghost Whisperer,” “Medium,” and “Numb3rs;” NBC’s “Law And Order,” “Dateline” and “The Jay Leno Show;” FOX’s “Brothers,” “’Til Death” and “Dollhouse;” CW’s “Smallville” as well as TBS’s airing of the MLB Division Series featuring the baseball game between the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Angels.
• On Monday night, Univision’s hit novela “Mañana Es Para Siempre” (Tomorrow is Forever) reached over 11 million Total Viewers with its 3 hour grand finale. The novela’s finale helpedUnivision take the #2 spot for the night, beating first-run primetime programs on ABC, CBS and NBC among Adults 18-34 (2.4 million).
• With an average audience of 7.3 million Total Viewers 2+ and 4.1 million Adults 18-49, “Mañana Es Para Siempre’s” finale made Univision the #4 network on broadcast television, beating NBC and CW.
• “Mañana Es Para Siempre’s” finale also averaged more Adults 18-49 viewers than ABC’s “Castle,” CBS’s “Accidentally On Purpose,” FOX’s “Lie To Me” and the entire primetime programming line-ups on NBC and CW.
• Tuesday night’s 9pm premiere of “Sortilegio” (Love Spell) delivered an average audience of 4.5 million viewers 2+, 2.3 million Adults 18-49, 1.5 million Adults 18-34 and 1.8 million Persons 12-34.
• On premiere night, “Sortilegio” (Love Spell) delivered more Adults 18-34 and Persons 12-34 than CBS’s “The Good Wife,” “NBC’s “The Jay Leno Show” and the entire primetime programming line-ups on ABC, CW and all of cable television.
• “Cristina’s” Tuesday night telecast featuring the cast of “Mañana Es Para Siempre” ranks as the second highest telecast of 2009-to-date with 1.4 million Adults 18-34, #4 among Total Viewers 2+ (4.0 million) and #5 among Adults 18-49 (2.1 million). Additionally, “Cristina” out-delivered CBS’s “The Good Wife,” NBC’s “The Jay Leno Show” as well as the entire primetime programming line-ups on ABC and CW among Adults 18-34.
• For the week, Univision was the #5 broadcast network in the country in overall prime among all Adults 18-49 (1.9 million), Adults 18-34 (1.1 million), Households (2.2 million), Persons 2+ (3.7 million) and Teens 12-17 (227,000).
• For three consecutive weeks, Univision ranked #1 among Kids 2-11 (521,000) in primetime, beating its closest competitor FOX by +29%.
• Univision out-delivered ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX on 4 out of 7 nights among Adults 18-34, 2 nights among Adults 18-49 and Persons 2+, and 5 out of 7 nights among Teens 12-17.
• In the 8pm hour, Univision was the #3 network with the help of “En Nombre del Amor” (In the Name of Love) and Monday’s finale of “Mañana Es Para Siempre” (Tomorrow is Forever)among Adults 18-34 (1.4 million), Teens (284,000) and ranked #2 among Women 18-49 (846,000).
• “¡Viva el Sueño!” (Live the Dream!) delivered strong audience levels on Sunday 8-10pm among Adults 18-34 (688,000) and Adults 18-49 (1.3 million) an increase over the prior week of +8% and +6%, respectively. Sunday night, the reality show delivered more Adults 18-34 than FOX’s “Brothers Specials” and CBS’ “Three Rivers”.
