We're three weeks into the broadcast primetime season (through October 11, 2009) and CBS can claim the current lead in the important primetime adults 18-49 ratings as well as adults 25-54 and average viewership. Fox's youth targeting this fall continues to pay off as they're leading in the adults 18-34 ratings.
You can see past week's broadcast network primetime season to date average TV ratings results here.

Each rating point is a percentage of the US TV population in that demographic group and equals: 2.90 million viewers, 1.32 million adults 18-49, 0.68 million adults 18-34 and 1.24 million adults 25-54.
Sadly, we will no longer be having a Tiny Network Showdown! since MyNetworkTV ratings averages are no longer being reported by Nielsen, since they are no longer classed as a network but are now a “programming service”.
Note that the chart includes RATINGS not VIEWERSHIP as was typical in our weekly network ratings posts prior to July, 2009.

NBC doesn’t look so bad here – this doesn’t include their giant Leno premiere week either (though I often forget football is part of their weekly ratings).
NBC can be criticized for being held up by like three shows, but the same argument can apply to ABC, so.
You could still have Tiny Network Showdown, between Univision and CW, though that would make CW look bad.
Won’t Fox run away with all 4 of these charts once Idol starts?
Adam, “Won’t Fox run away with all 4 of these charts once Idol starts?”
Perhaps not average viewership, but if recent history holds, definitely the adult demo groups.
ABC doesn’t look as bad as latest reports say it is second most of time and third, same for NBC it ies third and sometimes fourth, but with football help it cometimes goes until second
