I’m a Ghost Hunters & Paranormal State fan, and I thought this show was terrible. I’m surprised that it did so well, but I have to wonder how much spin is in those percentages.
These numbers will soon be over…the first one was because of all of the paranormal fans were excited to see a fresh show in the genre. The second episode numbers were those people who came back thinking that they can’t all be as BAD as the first one. The 3rd reading will be that they all ARE as bad as the first one. This show is headed for the graveyard.
I hate how a few opinions get taken as facts. Just because a few of you retards don’t like the show doesn’t mean that everyone else doesn’t either.
All you Ghost Lab haters out there can go jump in front of on coming traffic.
GHOST LAB RULES!!!
Ghost Lab Fans:
This show is such a transparent promotional tool that it is embarrassing even to those of us who have no connection with it (unlike the previous poster who apparently has a relative or significant other associated with the production). The blatant selection of sites and “ghost quandaries” connected with high traffic toursit areas and the complete failure of the show to deal with the blatant commercial interests who are promoting the “ghost” theories that supposedly propel the plot of each show leave a person wondering what the hell is going on here?
This show is simply a legitimized balloon boy hoax, wrap inside a chamber of commerce (Memphis, Tuscon, etc)local booster commercial.
I wish I had someone connected with the production. That would be awesome.
Actually I’m just someone who doesn’t have a problem with just enjoying something for entertainment, rather than trying to critically analyze everything just to show people that I can.
The really simple answer is this: IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT, DON’T WATCH IT!
To paraphrase your style and sentiment:
KEEP WATCHING!
FLEETING PLEASURES ARE BETTER THAN NO PLEASURES AT ALL !?!*?!
In all seriousness, I don’t begrudge you for enjoying the show. I think my frustration comes from a sense that the entire reality show industry has gone off the rails. It is all driven by a very base greed motive (reality tv is the cheapest format for cable channels to produce content)that results in contrived trash (like the Pawn show on the History channel)and most recently inspired parents in CO to engage in a fraud that gained national media attention and left everyone wondering if this phenomena hasn’t exceeded its welcome. Watching a six year old throw up on camera during interviews because he doesn’t want to answer a question that incriminates his father is not my idea of entertainment. But it is part and parcel of the reality tv world. So from something limp and inane like Ghost Lab to the upsetting picture presented by the balloon episode and its related sideshows in CO, we collectively put our mark on the reality epoch of American TV history.
We are what we watch.
Maybe.
I was hooked on the first show, but now as I watch more, it actually bores me because it’s more like “Human Lab” than “Ghost Lab” most of the time. I understand adding a human element to the spin to see if it brings back feelings from when the ghosts were alive, but we know all of that from the stories. The concentrates too much on scaring each other and inducing feelings on humans to bring out the ghosts. Also, they never really have any kind of good evidence. The stuff that they have found is just EVP’s and nothing else on video at all. I don’t think the show will last. I give it maybe another season then it’s history. I decided “Ghost Hunters” is so much better. At least “Ghost Hunters” has video, EVP’s and heat signatures to where you can see the ghosts moving unlike this awful show…sorry, but it will be cancelled.
