MIAMI, FL, OCTOBER 14, 2009 – TeleFutura, one of the largest Spanish-language networks in the U.S. and the ideal entertainment alternative for Hispanics across the nation, announced today that during the Third Quarter of 2009 (3Q 2009) it delivered its highest quarterly performance ever in primetime, registering double-digit audience growth among Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49. As a matter of fact, during 3Q 2009 TeleFutura solidified its position as the #2 Spanish-language network in early morning (Mon.-Fri., 7am-10am), daytime (Mon.-Fri., 10am-3pm), weekend daytime (Sat.-Sun., 7am-7pm), and late fringe (Mon.-Sun., 11pm-2am) among Adults 18-49, beating Telemundo. In addition, for the last four consecutive quarters, TeleFutura increased its primetime audience, narrowing the gap versus Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49, and Adults 18-34. TeleFutura is currently the fastest growing network in broadcast primetime among Adults 18-49 (+192,000) and Adults 18-34 (+120,000).
Additional Highlights:
• In primetime, TeleFutura’s audience grew by impressive margins during 3Q 2009 vs. the 3Q 2008 among Total Viewers 2+ (+61% or +319,000 impressions), Adults 18-49 (+52% or +164,000 impressions) and Adults 18-34 (+61% or +103,000 impressions) whileTelemundo ended the 3Q 2009 period with minimal or no growth versus 3Q 2008
• Compared to Second Quarter 2009, Telemundo’s audience declines were TeleFutura’s audience gains in primetime. For example, among Total Viewers 2+, TeleFutura gained +144,000 viewers while Telemundo lost -139,000, and among Adults 18-49 TeleFutura gained +85,000 viewers while Telemundo lost -78,000
• In addition, TeleFutura’s Adult 18-49 audience gains surpassed Telemundo’s in key dayparts during 3Q 2009
