Here are the Monday night broadcast finals via "Travis Yanan"  which you have already seen if you were following him on Twitter.

House got hurt by its late start time due to baseball playoffs overrun and dropped quite a bit versus last week's 5.2 adults 18-49 down to a 4.4.   Lie To Me actually improved .1 from last week to a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating.

The Big Bang Theory went up a couple of more ticks in the finals, tying its 18-49 record and How I Met Your Mother and Accidentally on Purpose both dropped a tick from the preliminary numbers.

Heroes and Castle didn't change versus the prelim 18-49 ratings this morning.

  1. Chris

    Go Castle!!!!!!!!!

  2. Lie to Me surprised me. I thought it was going to be killed by the odd start time, and then I saw House’s big drop and figured it had no chance.

Castle hit its season high this week. (Last week it tied for it.) I still wouldn’t bet on it for a third season, but, despite arguing elsewhere that ABC doesn’t need it (and they don’t) I can see them keeping it around this season.

  3. Castle is slowly growing. I think that if it gets to 2.5 and stays that way, it should get a 3rd season. If not, that really depends on the success of the shows ABC has for mid season.

  4. Chris

Fox is smart to stick with Lie to me

  5. ChuckNut

    thanks chris, ditto!!

  6. Chucksmom

    Yeah for Castle!

  7. ChuckNut

oops, when i wrote my reply there was only one entry by chris. i was responding to the comment “go castle.” i hope it does well enough to stick around for a while. i really enjoy the story lines and actors.

  8. Lie To Me and Castle are two of the best written/crafted shows on tv at the moment. I really hope that Fox and ABC respectively give both a back 9 and seriously look at renewing each for a third season.

  9. Epiphany

A shame about the baseball cutting into House – it was the best episode to date (a-Thirteen/Olivia Wilde free show. YES!).

  10. phantom

Wow, Accidentally on Purpose built on its lead-in How I Met your mother in total viewers ? Did not see that coming OR the respectable 18-49 improvement compared to last week. Back9 should be a done deal by now.

Castle is improving slowly, especially with the last two airings: it improved in demos and in total viewers compared to the first 2 episodes. It’s a very-very stable performer for ABC.

    1st episode – 9,26 million in total viewers (2,3 in 18-49)
    2nd episode – 9,15 million in total viewers (2,3 in 18-49)
    3rd episode – 9,23 million in total viewers (2,2 in 18-49)
    4th episode – 9,76 million in total viewers (2,3 in 18-49)
    5th episode – 9,69 million in total viewers (2,4 in 18-49)

Gossip Girl seems a failure at first glance but those W18-34 numbers – CW-s target audience – are probably the highest for the network tied with VD.

  11. Liban A

I hope Castle continues to improve! However, I hope Eastwick gets a 2.5 this week… We can pray for miracles right?

  12. ChuckNut

just saw ausiello tweeted that castle was picked up for a full season! wOOt!

  13. Mel

wow NOBODY but W18-34 watch Gossip Girl. With only 1.9 million viewers and a 2.5 in W18-34 it has to be — like the whole 1.9, doesn’t it?

  14. ebas

I believe GG is the CW’s second best performer in the W18-34 demo. Maybe tied with America’s Next Top Model, I don’t remember exactly. The Vampire Diaries is first with a 2.7 last week.

  15. Mel, not quite. Only 1.02 mil of GG’s viewers last night were A18-34. ;)

  16. Trent

    phantom,

There is no chance for AoP to get a Back 9. None. CBS has 13 episodes of Rules of Engagement to air in that slot. They are not going to make RoE wait until summer. I expect AoP will get the same thing Worst Week got last year… 3 additional episodes for a total of 16. However, unlike Worst Week, I expect AoP will get a second season.

  17. johnthemon

    TGFH-Thank goodness for Heroes.

this is honestly the best season since the first and I hope it keeps going up.

  18. Ryan

while AOP did good i still don’t want to watch it over ROE.. depending on how the season ends maybe give it another but don’t do anything to it that affects ROE b.c that is a far better show/cast/writing

  19. forg

Congrats to The Big Bang Theory very happy with its performance. HIMYM as well and was surprised AoP did well this week but that’s good for CBS at least the Monday Night Comedy are solid. But I wish Old Christine was there instead

  20. Jonathan B.

I’m surprised that no one has mentioned that TBBT is in a great position to be the most watched scripted show of the week among 18-49ers, with House hurt by Baseball and Grey’s on the decline. It’s been ages since a live-action sitcom did that, hasn’t it? Not counting The Office post-Super Bowl, of course.
