Oooh Msn wasn’t far behind Fox in the 25-54 demos in prime time. Maybe more and more people will get the very accurate message that the white house has started to spread.

  2. Adam

Sharon, these are weekend numbers and they always look like this.

I think the “very accurate message” this past weekend was either about pedophiles, prisoners or murderers.

  4. Sharon

Are you talking about propoganda again Apple Stinx?

Fox…propoganda for the right. Who was the pedophile again? Was it Jennings? Yeah, not a pedophile, research him sometime. Don’t rely on Hanity.

Sharon, MSNBC has been re-running their Chris Hansen series on online child predators. In the segment shown this weekend, or the one before, they featured creeps from here in Northern California, so I noticed it was on. I didn’t see Jennings in the mix, though. MSNBC also has special programs about serial killers, prisoners and Nigerian scams.

This is for all you Beckies out there that so adore this man who has taken up the conservative cause…..Beck started his career in Kentucky in 1985 on a small radio station in Louisville. It was here that Beck started his knack for creating controversy. (These reflections are from the people who worked with him, mind you..) Beck, according to the general manager of the radio station, learned to be a master of self-promotion. He (and I quote) quickly learned that bringing attention to yourself means ratings, and ratings means money!! (Again, not my words). His show was about protraying funny characters, jokes about celebrities and trading insults – must of it skirting the boundaries of good taste (Courier-Journal). Beck would become, as they referred, downright nasty on his show… He constantly criticized another morning Louisville CJ for her weight. One joke listing that long list of food that was to be at this DJ’s wedding. Beck went on to say that whats hiliarous is that there are only 4 in the wedding party…(your hero?) Beck quit the station in 1987 as he tried to have fired a collegue on the show that he didnt like but station refused. As his ratings were tanking, he left Louisville. No one that worked with Beck during those years saw Beck giving no partisan tone on the air. He was never politicl and they, his old co-workers, find it hilarious that Beck is now percevied to be the voice of the ultra-conservative and see him as just portraying another one of his ‘characters’…. So,friends, this is the guy that you have attached your wagons… He is a master of self promotion. And as stated earlier, he has quickly learned that bringing attention to oneself means ratings and ratings means money……. Any one notice the bump in his ratings in July when he called Obama a racist? Glenn Beck has a plan and it pardon the slang aint about you or your well-being! (Thanks to the CJ)

The very acurate message being that Fox is not a news program. Foxes “special programs” are there constant airings of how the government is going to destroy America. Oooooh! I guess we all better get assault rifles, buy gold, and hide in our basements in fear of the current administrations because Fox told us to.

  10. Sharon

I’m not surprised by anything you just said Gibson.

  11. JJC

    @Gibson

Yeah, we know Beck wasn’t always the guy he is today. In fact he talks about the terrible person he once was in his books, his radio show, and his TV show. He admits he was an alcoholic and treated others badly. That was before he sobered up and found faith in Christ. So whats your point?

This is what Glenn Beck said in response to Kieth Olberman asking his viewers to dig up dirt on him: “you want dirt on me just read my books; I talk about them.”

And that whole Obama racist comment is taken out of context. I suggest you stop going to media matters or watching 20 second bits on youtube.

  12. Russ23

Riddle me this Sharon……if Fox is not a news station, how come they can cover the news full time over the weekend while MSNBC just runs episodes of Lockup, To Catch a Predator, and other filler taped shows?

Here is a good article explaining why MSNBC stinks over the weekend.

    http://articles.latimes.com/2009/jun/24/entertainment/et-msnbc24

Weekend numbers for cable news are irrelevant in my humble opinion.

  13. Sharon

Because Fox is devoted to hating this government with every waking minute that they have.

  14. Gibson

Youre numbed by his kool-aid my friend and he is laughing at you all the way to the bank. Hes a charlatan and he is sucking you in with your eyes wide open.. You see, but you are blind.

  15. Gibson

Oh, JJC, explain to us how Becks racist remarks were taken out of context?

  16. Matt-in-pgh

I have still not seen one shred of evidence that FOX is a shill for the GOP. I’ve heard a lot of spin, a lot of talking points, inuendo, grand leaps of logic and insinuation, but not verifying piece of evidence.

  17. Matt-in-pgh

NEWS FLASH!!! Obama decrees that sun now rises in the west and sets in the east. MSNBC has sent Nora O’Donnel and Andrea Mitchell to the white house and Keith (I got arrested for stalking Rebecca Lobo) Olbermann will be having a special on this amazing discovery tonight at 9.

Of course, FOX, having not been allowed to the white house for this new conference, contends the sun still rises in the east. Damn fear mongers. I’m sure Trent Lott is behind this disavowing of the newest Obama-ism.

  18. WOLFSTER38

You have pro Government CNN & MSNBC
Then you have FOX who runs away from Government control.
I thought Obama liked choice and competition. I guess he doesn’t like choice and competition when it’s not his choice!
I will make my own choice. No one will tell me what to watch. I do not need Obama holding my hand like many of you. I will watch FOX because he doesn’t want me too. FOX must have a message that the Government does not want you to hear. MMM MMM MMM ! Maybe the truth…….

  19. Sharon

Well for starters they’ve managed to indentify corrupt republican officials as democrats on several ocassions, i.e. Mark Foley. Shortly after the scooter liby conviction they announced that he was acquitted on one charge instead of mentioning that he was convicted on the other four counts. Right after Obama’s health care speech they immediatley did a story about ACORN, cause that’s just such a big issue. Most of there stories for the past few weeks have been about ACORN, Van Jones, Jennings, things that GOP has been attacking now for weeks and getting nowhere with. So they needed Foxes help with “reporting” on those and other stories.

  20. WOLFSTER38

When should these stories be told? when it’s to late? FOX is a voice of freedom and you hate the idea of freedom. Is freedom for you Obama telling you what to watch? What to eat? where to live?
is that freedom for you Sharon?
I don’t need anyone telling me what to watch. I’m not the sheep!
