Dollhouse-S2-E2

Because the viewer increases don't actually matter for anything other than PR, Bill has chosen to focus on 18-49 DVR increases in the regular weekly DVR posts.

But because fans are interested, sometimes very, very interested (I'm looking at you Smallville and Supernatural fans!), I'm posting them anyway.

Top 25 shows with the biggest Live+7 viewer increases over Live+SD viewing for the week ending October 4, 2009:

these are sorted by largest  Live+7  percentage increases over Live+SD viewing.   But I didn't include the % in the table because people only seem very interested in the actual Live+7 numbers.

    Thanx Robert!

  2. Gabriela

    We loveeeeee You!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Nice to see The Mentalist and NUMB3RS go up! :)

  4. Ryan

    Thanks, Robert!

Wow, Smallville increased to 3.026 million viewers by DVR viewing. That’s impressive.

Ouch, Dollhouse was weaker than Smallville and Supernatural was only a bit stronger than both despite a better time slot.

  5. Shannon

    Ryan,

A better time slot? seriously? Are you smoking crack? cause I want some. Supernatural is in the death slot of all nights. And now it has Fringe to contend with.

Smallville has no competition on Friday’s at all none!

So when you look at it, Supernatural is not in a better time slot.

  6. Ryan

    @Shannon

You’re right! The competition for Supernatural is hard against CSI, Grey’s Anatomy, The Office, 30 Rock and Fringe but it has a strong lead-in.

Smallville has to do it on its own on a dying night followed by a repeat of ANTM.

  7. Shannon

Sorry Ryan, didn’t mean to snap LOL

But honestly VD and Supernatural are not all that compatible. We were better off when paired with Smallville.

I don’t expect the tweens that flock to VD to understand the complexity of Supernatural. They just won’t get it.

What the CW should do is pair Smallville and Supernatural on Friday’s together. ;)

  8. james

Just the overall number of viewers on Thursday night helps out Supernatural.

  9. Ryan

    @Shannon

I couldn’t agree with you more. Smallville and Supernatural make a good match.

Smallville and Supernatural on Friday nights could work well together ;-)

  10. Smallville

As a big fan of Smallville and Supernatural i think they would be better off together on any night then seperated they were like brothers.

  11. Mel

Supernatural’s viewers are down (hello Fringe) but their demo numbers are up following TVD. (correct me if I’m wrong, Robert.)
So I don’t know if moving SV away from SN really had that much of an impact (on SN).

  12. suzi

    Thank you for posting these.

  13. forg

    Thank you for posting

The Mentalist with 18 million viewers and FlashForward with 12 million viewers, wow!

  14. Fate

From this SPN (and SMV) fan, thank you very much for posting these for us!! Love reading this kind of stuff. And good to see my faves go up. I know it doesn’t mean anything (right now, anyways), but still nice to know that its not that the viewers abandoned them, so much as they had to tape them to watch later.

  15. dude

so greys anatomy techincally still has over 18 million viewers watching it?

  16. Judy

Wonderful to see “The Mentalist” so high on this list. To me it’s the best program on television!

  17. Anna

good numbers for dollhouse, and especially supernatural!!!!! TNX!

  18. cress

I don’t know why Fox renewed Fringe and Dollhouse if they are NOT GOING TO PROMOTE IT at all. Fox sux with the delivery, handling and promtion of their shows. This is why Family Guy was cancelled a few years back. But a CABLE network took Family Guys’ repeats to great ratings(and stellar DVD sales), and Fox comes calling again.
Fox executives do not look at the big picture. They are now run by short-attention span morons who take their new hit shows(with only a season under its belt) and pit them against a highly rated series BEFORE THEY ARE READY. Some shows need time to cultivate a fan base. X-Files did that in the ’90s for Fox, but that was run by SMARTER people back then. If Fox cancels FRINGE, it will be because THEY SCREWED UP!

  19. Heroes increased 7 millons viewers? excellent!!!

  20. no. Heroes increased TO 7.296 million from 5.765 million. The actual increase is the difference between the two (1.531 million)
