The 2009 MLB Postseason on TBS continues to experience growth, averaging a 3.2 national household rating, a 7% increase over last year, through Game #3 of the National League Championship Series. In addition, total viewers are up 7% (4,919,000 vs. 4,586,000), and households are up 7% (3,656,000 vs. 3,411,000).

Adult Swim

Across the third week of October 2009, Adult Swim once again ranked #1 among ad-supported cable networks for total day delivery of adults 18-34, adults 18-24 and men 18-24.  Despite significant sports competition, adults 18-34 delivery (440,000) grew by 7% compared to the same 2008 time period, and adults 18-49 delivery (607,000) increased by 17%.

With 17 of the top 50 telecasts of the week on basic cable among adults 18-34, Adult Swim’s Monday night telecast of Family Guy (11 p.m.) earned significant gains compared to the same time period last year: adults 18-34 delivery (1,136,000) increased by 78% and adults 18-24 delivery (688,000) increased by 88%.  The Friday midnight presentation of the BBC hit comedy The Office, starring Ricky Gervais, posted more modest delivery gains among adults 18-34 (341,000) by 7% and among adults 18-49 (481,000) by 5%.

Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Friday, 8 p.m.) continues to fire double-digit ratings and delivery gains among its target kids demos compared to the same time period last year.  The third episode in its second season earned 51% delivery increases among kids 2-11 (891,000), 55% delivery increases among kids 6-11 (646,000) and 98% delivery increases among kids 9-14 (659,000).  The delivery gains were even higher among boys, with boys 2-11 delivery (677,000) up by 59%, boys 6-11 delivery (521,000) up by 54% and boys 9-14 delivery (535,000) up by 101%.

truTV
truTV enjoyed a strong week, earning a Top 10 ad-supported cable ranking in primetime delivery of men 18-49 (270,000).

  • truTV’s primetime experienced superb growth for the week compared to same week year-ago, with adults 18-34 up 63%, adults 18-49 up 39%, adults 25-54 up 35%, men 18-34 up 66%, men 18-49 up 48% and men 25-54 up 44%.
  • The Smoking Gun Presents (Thursday, Oct. 15, 9-10 p.m.) ranked among the top 5 cable entertainment programs in its time period in delivery of viewers (1,555,000); adults 18-49 (774,000); adults 25-54 (820,000); men 18-49 (453,000); and men 25-54 (503,000).
