Definitions:
*Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs which are currently in approximately 24.4% of all U.S. TV households. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

The Good Wife failed to reach 3.0
but good numbers still
Biggest Loser was very strong
Just me, or Leno still declining week-to-week? Wonder where it stops?
Ouch Melrose Place….who am I kidding HAHA!!
Dooesn’t matter, Shark Tank’s numbers aren’t justifiable to bring it back.
The Biggest Loser looks like it will beat the office this week as NBC’s top show (besides Sunday Night Football).
Looks like a strong night for everyone…except CW.
And I’m pretty excited for NCIS vs. American Idol starting in January. The two biggest shows on TV going head-to-head…should be fun. I expect some interesting reading on that battle as it draws closer.
Wow! Biggest Loser with an average 3.9 adult demo–very good. Leno back up above 1.5. Overall a good night for NBC.
I wonder if Shark Tank will come back to ABC – they did bring back “American Inventors” with somewhat similar numbers. I think the show could do reasonably well in the summer, plus it seems to be dirt cheap to produce.
And Leno’s 1.8 seems to be on-par with last week’s performance, is that right?
@ Forg, remember that it is up against baseball, so considering that it held on pretty well.
Good wife holding on to 2.8/2.7 same as last week. hopefully the numbers wont go down in the finals. That’s pretty much all I care about on tuesdays
wow biggest loser actually beat NCIS LA damn… and its only a month since the season started.. i wonder if it can reach a 5 now
Yes Anonymous, I believe that Leno had a 1.8 18-49 demo last week as well on Tuesday.
Very excited about the numbers for NCIS and impressed that the sibling show is still strong. I second the comment about looking forward to the head-to-head competition against AI.
Dancing With the Stars had an overrun, right? It looks like the Forgotten is going to go down in the finals.
@ Bill
I believe you have the 90210 W18-34 numbers wrong
(the 2 should be a 1?)
NCIS is just WOW in the ratings department.
makes me wonder how well it would do should it move to 9pm
probably +1M viewers and +0.3 in the demo.
CBS should switch NCIS LA and NCIS
LA would have less competition at 8
Looks like “Dancing with the Stars” bled into 10 PM, so “the forgotten” will most likely go down another tick.
Not that it’ll happen, but I’d like to see how “Eastwick” would do with a “DWTS” lead-in. Its female skew and bigger total audience lead-in might help.
Everyone Watch Eastwick tonight!!!
and id like to see 90210 at like 2.8
its funny how Smallville matches the viewers and there on the worst night! thats how u can tell its the strongest series on The CW
Just cancel Melrose Place already? Is Dawn slow???
Michael, there could have been an overrun for DWTS as is typical, but I have no specific information on it from last night. If so, it will be corrected in the final numbers out this afternoon.
Anon, I did have a typo in the 90210 W18-34 number, but it wasn’t as you suspected, the correct number was a 2.2 not a 2.3.
