ABC’s line up is so consistent! good job abc!

your wrong, Desperate Housewives has been winning the 18-49 battle for the past 5 years. Like Julia said, it even won the season average last year.

All the big CBS shows have better repeat demos than Old Christine, Gary Unmarried, Three Rivers, and maybe a few more.

Sigh. Some of us have a life and don’t have time to read every single article on this website in detail. There was an ongoing discussion about 18-49 in THIS article and I chose to put my 2 cents in.

…and Nightline viewers aren’t the oldest, either, so there isn’t a conspiracy on that score, or else Dave’s overnights wouldn’t be shown either…

…but Nightline isn’t on the CW, but one of the big four nets, which makes the lack of overnights for Nightline perplexing to me…

…I wonder – would the fact that ABC affiliates shuffle Nightline, so that it doesn’t air consistently at the same time slot across the country, have any impact on your not getting its overnights with Dave and Conan, based on lack of comparability?

Parks is finished, I cannot stand that show. Please give Amy Poehler something better to do! Put her on Chuck or Community or give her another original sitcom.

Nope. If you’re over 50 and buying a new car, TV, furniture, and whatever else. You’re in the minority of that age group. They would waste millions of dollars every year on a myth. I don’t think they’re that dumb.

I have to say, that personally I don’t think the show has been this good on average since season 3.

30 Rock was also up in finals to a 3.3, down .6 from its second episode last year, but an improvement compared to last week’s year-to-year comparison.

Community and Parks were flat. I will miss Parks a lot if it gets canned.

People in their 50′s are often better off than anyone else.

-They are still working, often at the highest salary bracket after years at the same company and many raises

-Their kids out of the house.

-And often, their mortage is paid off by then.

-People that age ofetn have tons of disposable income and are also often fit enough to want to go golfing, or buy a new car, or buy new furniture, or whatever advertisors want.

Do advertisors and networks really not give a flying poop about people above age 49? They do so at their peril.

I think to a degree, the “power” of the 18-49 demo is a myth.

FlashForward was incredibly boring until the last two minutes. I hope it improves.

Not much else to comment on. The Office is good. And I like P&R too. Survivor is popular but past it. I gave up watching it when they started to give them live animals to kill/eat all the time. Sure, you would do that if you were lost in the woods, or had no other choice, but it’s a friggin’ game show. Living things shouln’t be killed for TV. But, I guess it’s ok to rip the head of a chicken or stab a pig to death on network tv, but don’t even try to to slip an F-bomb.

The FlashForward drop is another worry and again I think my prediction that ABC will pair it with Lost in some way, shape or form from mid season takes another step to becoming reality. ABC however will be happy that Grey’s jumped up without CSI to compete with. Private Practice on the other hand isn’t such great news, the fact that it wasn’t light years ahead of the repeating Mentalist, did baseball really take away from its audience? Again I struggle with that argument looking at how Grey’s did.

On another note The Menalist repeats scarily well, like better than many shows (the entire NBC line-up for example) do on original airings well. Maybe NBC should just syndicate Mentalist repeats at 10PM next year?

If you want to save a show you love you should put your money where your mouth is. Buy 5 copies of every episode on iTunes and gift them to someone. If every Community fan did that I guarantee you the show would get renewed (Dollhouse does much worse and was saved by the same concept). So if you’re worried spend the $10 and skip the fansite.

(Though again, since Community was the only NBC show competing with a Baseball game on the West Coast last night I think all the “worry about Community” talk is pre-mature)

I remain unconvinced that people who don’t watch Leno are suddenly going to watch Leno because they’re watching other things at 10 and will switch to Leno when there are reruns. It’s early yet, but that’s the source of my doubt.”

Mine too.

The one in the other show was clearly a tool used for ratings that didn’t work because the writers are running out of idea, or did awhile ago. Instead of a ‘jump the shark’ moment it’ll likely be called a ‘girl kiss girl’ moment. :-/

I am still sticking with Flashforward in the hope that something happens but its absolutely nothing like Lost. In Flashforward you just dont really care about the characters and there is no sense of any jeopardy which is half the fun of Lost.

I think NBC might realize after this year that they’re screwed no matter what they put on in that timeslot. And Community doesn’t look expensive, so….
