Because the Dodgers-Phillies series only lasted 5 games, TBS coverage of the MLB LDS and the NLCS ended down versus last year's coverage of the LDS and an ALCS that went seven games.
Over 18 games, TBS averaged a 3.3 U.S. household rating, a 3.8 cable rating and nearly 5.15 million watchers, according to Nielsen data. The cable mark was off 5% from 4.0 mark and down 4.4% from 5.38 million watchers for 22 postseason games a year ago.
The 2008 numbers were fueled by a seven-game American League Championship Series in which Game 6 (8.9 million) and Game 7 (13.4 million) of the Tampa Bay-Boston series were the two of the most-watched baseball telecasts in cable history.

TBS knew it would get between 16 and 27 games for its coverage of the four Division Series and the National League Championship Series. TBS got 18. Bad luck none of the five series it broadcast was very compelling.
Or people hate Philadelphia.
In which case: screw ‘em. Go Phillies!
no one watches baseball nowadays. I don’t see why it’s still called America’s national pastime.
MLB has screwed themselves. The world series should occur in early Sept before college and NFL football gets seriously underway. The WS used to be a late summer production. In an effort to add games and more advertising revenue by stretching the regular season, MLB is losing their audience for good.
Nobody watches baseball. It is soooo boring. Turn from a MLB game to any football game and the difference is night and day. People actually go to baseball games and read books lol
