Adult Swim

Adult Swim wrapped up both the final week and the entire month of October ’09 ranking #1 among ad-supported cable networks for total day delivery of adults 18-34, adults 18-24 and men 18-24.  Despite a month heavily programmed with key sports events, Adults Swim programs accounted for eight of the top 50 telecasts of the month on ad-supported basic cable among adults 18-34.

Among its programming highlights, the Monday night new-episode presentations of Family Guy (11 p.m.) earned double-digit ratings and delivery increases among all young adult demos compared to the same time period last year.  Across the month, average adults 18-34 delivery (1,148,000) grew by 52% and ratings (1.7) by 55%; average adults 18-24 delivery (687,000) grew by 58% and ratings (2.4) by 60%.  Similarly, the BBC version of The Office on Friday nights (12 a.m.) increased average adults 18-34 delivery (337,000) by 28% and ratings (0.5) by 25%, and adults 18-24 delivery (148,000) by 22% and ratings (0.5) by 25%.

Cartoon Network closed out the final week of October 2009 with across-the-board prime time delivery and ratings growth among key kid demos compared to the previous 4-week average: kids 6-11 delivery (559,000) and ratings (2.3) both improved by 5%; kids 2-11 delivery (834,000) jumped by 13% and ratings (2.0) by 11%; and kids 9-14 delivery (415,000) rose by 7% and ratings (1.7) by 6%.

Cartoon Network’s Friday night presentation of BATMAN: THE BRAVE & THE BOLD (7:30 p.m.) featured an all-singing, all-dancing musical starring Neil Patrick Harris as a brand new villain, The Music Meister.  The half-hour rock-pop opera entitled Mayhem of the Music Meister! earned significant double-digit ratings and delivery gains compared to the same time period last year.  Kids 9-14 delivery (477,000) increased by 19% and ratings (2.0) by 25%.  Kids 6-11 delivery (729,000) increased by 10% and ratings (3.0) by 11%.  And kids 2-11 delivery (1,175,000) increased by 27% and ratings (2.9) by 26%.   The performance among boys demos showed even stronger gains, with ratings and delivery increasing between 39% and 44%.

A new episode of Ben 10: Alien Force (Friday, 8:30 p.m.) increased all kids and boys delivery performances by significant double digits.  Kids 9-14 delivery (401,000) advanced by 42% and ratings (1.6) by 33%; kids 6-11 delivery (432,000) and ratings (2.1) both advanced by 17%; and kids 2-11 delivery (750,000) advanced by 19% and ratings (1.8) by 20%.
