One scripted drama in the bunch, and it was my new favorite show, Sons Of Anarchy!
But its not just old folks like me who are much closer to 49 than 18 who like Sons Of Anarchy, it's a hit with the youthful 18-34 crowd too, where it was also the only scripted drama in the top ten.

whoa where did South Park come from?? It must skew really really young since it wasn’t on the total viewers or the 18-49 list.
It’s one of the grittiest, most well written shows out there on any network or cable station. It is not your all American cookie cutter crime/hospitilization of the week sappy show. So happy for KS, the actors and the crew.
Cullen, South Park did well with 18-49 too (#16) but I only posted the top ten. In overall viewers it was not even among the top 100.
The percentage of viewers who were 18-34 or 18-49 was very high, so indeed it does skew young.
Ahh I see thanks! You don’t get information on the average viewing age for show’s right?
sadly, no… I have seen #s before, but never anything on a weekly basis. There’s all kinds of data we wish we saw regularly. Top shows based on household income, full C3 ratings, etc.
Keep the SOA love flowing!
Kudos to Mr. Kurt Sutter, cast and crew!
Love the fact that SOA is doing so well. It deserves every bit of success it gets.
Such an Amazing show and its great to see how amazing is doing 18-49. Such a rare achievement in cable shows.
So besides sports: Dunham, Sons of Anarchy, Real Housewives
& Sons of Anarchy, South Park, Dunham, Family Guy
making 50+ the vast bulk consumers of Monk, White Collar, NCIS
and 2-17 Suite Life, Penguins, Spongebob, Wizards
I’ve been watching Sons of Anarchy since day 1 , My whole week revolves around SoA and Tuesdays at 10pm. Friday comes and its not the weekend i’m looking forward too, its the fact i can spend all Sunday watching SoA, Mondays aren’t bad as they were before SoA, now Mondays are for you to do your work for Monday and Tuesday and sit and watch The new episode of Sons of Anarchy on Tuesday . I’m not surprised at all SoA is to. It is all i hear from my friends now a days. Glad to see that SoA Is getting re recognition it deserves, Please keep up the amazing work.
J, I didn’t see any 50+ rankings. For adults 25-54, Monk was #8 and White Collar #9. With 18-49, Monk was #14 and White Collar #17. They were #38 and #39 with 18-34.
Wow, great job! Not much of a surprise, this is one of the best written shows on TV. And word is getting out big time. Awesome job to the SOA crew!
SOA is a great show. The writing, storylines, characters, everything about it is genuinely awesome. I wish more people would watch it so that it can get the recognition it deserves.
I have my entire family hooked after buying season 1 on dvd.
It’s a small number, but don’t forget about us 18-34 females that watch it too.
have to add a disclaimer.. the 18-34 females don’t just watch it because Charlie is smokin hot, no lie, that helps, but it is the entire show that has me looking forward to tuesday nights.
Oh I was just extrapolating. If Monk/White Collar got 5.4 overall but apparently less than 2 million in 18-49, it would be relatively safe to assume that most of the 3 and a half ish million left are 50+.
We do get top 2-17 shows in press releases (for Disney/Nick) and usually USA shows do not top them…
I hate to tell the folks, but there are those of us that are outside the demographic as far as age….53….71…and we think SoA is the best thing going!!
Its a great, great show. I wish the media (yourself excluded) would get a little more hip to it. It deserves more attention, and I’d love to see these numbers grow.
I’m happy for Kurt Sutter and crew. He is outdoing himself in the 2nd season. It has a superb cast (that has grown), crew, writing and directing. It’s one of the few on my must see tv. I have faith that Sutter will keep the train rolling for as many seasons as possible.
I am 66 years old and have been a huge fan since day-1. My thanks to K.S. and his Crew for the great job they are doing. I hope it lasts for many years and look forward to the book(s) and movie.
