Trauma was just too expensive and numbers were too low, even for NBC. It gives NBC the opportunity to bring back Chuck early. It just shows that every series that airs post Heroes fails. Studio 60, Journeyman, My Own Worst Enemy, and now Trauma.

This is why I should know better than to get involved with new shows, especially ones on NBC. This sucks; I tried both Trauma and Mercy and found Mercy really uninteresting.

Trauma was the only show I watched on NBC, though, so I guess this means now I’m safe from NBC cancellations.

Trauma was such a great show. Mercy isn’t nearly as good, and Chuck is such an incredibly stupid show I honestly don’t know how or why it’s still on the air. I can only imagine what stupid reality show will take its spot. Good job NBC, you sure know how to pick them. The only great show you still air is The Office.

Now I watch Trauma but I really could care less if it is canceled and my better half does not watch it.

I am so sick of the number of shows starting, getting me interested and then being canceled.

NBC = Not Being Continued

So much safer to wait until something is established and then watching the episode streaming off the net.

Given that great successful shows like Seinfeld or M*A*S*H would not have been given a chance to succeed today.

Plus that fact that funny smart shows like Arrested Development cannot seem to find an audience just make me wonder. Seems like all the network want are bland middle of the road forumula shows with safe characters and safe scripts.

We need to start the Has Been Network and put on all those great shows that never succeeded as far as the network goes.

One thing that I have often thought about is that there should be show that every week does a new episode of an old favorite show:

I realize that this would never happen with costs to redo a single episode being too high but something that I would just love to see!!!

Have the next years episodes determined by a fan vote!

It’s obvious there are fans of Trauma, there were fans of Journeyman. I loved Trauma, Journeyman, even the Bionic Woman. I don’t think NBC gives shows a chance to grow. They give up to easy. There needs to be a new network that gives new shows a chance to grow. I was a fan of Kevin Hill, they cancelled that, I was also a fan of Life, I loved that show. If it’s not a quick hit they toss it. It’s just the reality when a network doesn’t get the same viewers it used to. To many things going on with cable and the internet. Too much choice. For those of you who didn’t like Trauma because it wasn’t real. That’s the whole point in TV. You want to escape. Why would we want something to be based in reality. This Show is a good one. The ONLY Non sci Fi show I watch really. I like LOST, HEROES, FRINGE, FLASH FORWARD, Stargate Atlantis, Star Trek.. blah blah blah.. I’m a Sci Fi Geek girl.. So seeing the only actual reality-ish based show that I LIKE getting whacked is a real pisser… *Cries* I love Rabbit.. Oh well.. I’ll just have to resort to Fan Fictions now. NBC Sucks like crap. They add new shows and then kill them.. It’s like.. what he HELL? Heroes, Chuck… They keep all the old stuff.. why do they bother TRYING with new ANYTHING. DAMN I’m pissed.

With NBC’s new series Sing Off airing, Trauma will have 2 eps with unscheduled airdates. NBC could burn em off sat, or air them post law & Order fridays in the month.

i loved this show trauma was so good i cant believe it got cancelled . i am very disappointed and in nbc too now they dont have many good shows on there that is nuts seems like all they put on tv anymore is lot more silly reality shows that make it and shouldnt trauma is way better . i like some reality shows but not that many . i also love three rivers i hope that show makes it .

I hate NBC – they canceled Life (a show I was totally hooked on) then Kings, and now Trauma. I am tired of getting shows that I really like tossed in the “nevermind” heap. Maybe we could get another Law and Order retool instead.

And don’t tell me it is all because of budgetary reasons: look at how much $$$ they are shelling out for LENO FIVE TIMES A WEEK in primetime. They significantly reduced the number of time slots they had to fill with that little stunt and then built the egomaniac a racetrack and new studio and are lining his toilets with gold at this point. Seriously – I know Trauma wasn’t everyone’s favorite, but it was pulling decent numbers and was growing.

NBC – you are dead to me. I watched Mercy, but no more. I didn’t love it. I loved Trauma. I loved Life. You SUCK!

I think there are many people who were really trying to give Trauma a chance. The problem with Trauma is it is way too expensive to produce with the low ratings they were pulling in… almost makes it unworkable. Combine that with unrealistic scenarios and middling acting you get a show that some enjoy but most don’t. Not expecting another ER, which was great, but at least something that is poignant and you care about. Trauma has not a hint of the main ingredients that make a show successful. Big fuse, little bang.

This network loves to shoot themselves in the foot. Here is a rundown of shows that should be on, it is short…Chuck, LIFE and Journeyman. The season should be 24 episodes and run September to May…with the Holiday time period set for re-runs (about a 6 week period just like it always was). Other “specials” or reruns will be scattered throughout. A note for the fans of TV and for the NBC EXECS…More people HATE or DISLIKE Jay Leno then Like…therefore it can not succeed, unless NBCs actual goal is to be the TJ Maxx of Network TV. Really they only need to fill 15 hours of TV a week (They were always fine running Movies or Specials on the weekends before). Included in that 15 can be news programs like Dateline and reality shows, now they are down to 12 hours of good programming. The problem here is they only currently have about ZERO of that 12. Joke Network that goes from the Top to the Bottom in 15 years…really impressive.

You know what? This is why ABC always kicks NBC’s ass. Get rid of shows like Cougar Town, The Middle and boring shows like Modern Family which overplays its depiction of gays. Trauma not a good show? Give me a break and break out the writing campaign. I for one kick my DVR’s ass just to make sure I record it. Cliff Curtis is absolutely a breath of fresh air. Kill the Leno show, he had his turn when he took over for Carson and his new show sucks big time, why not let Trauma be put in that time slot. Oh NBC… et tu??? Jeeez… I am so friggin disappointed.

With the exception of heroes I really don’t watch much nbc. Jeff Immelt’s giving head to the Obama administration is too blatant. I don’t mind subtlety, I can ignore it, but the overall bullshit they do really bores the living shit out of me. Fuck the Obama propaganda network. They cannot even bother to keep a show on long enough for word of mouth or viewers to get used to it anyway.

Dan, 30 Rock is a hugely critically acclaimed show that NBCU produces. NBC won’t do anything to risk it. Stop saying that it should be moved to 8. We all know that you and every other Community fan thinks it’s unfair that NBC would treat a show that they own and makes them money (in syndication) with kid gloves, rather than a show that they do not own and which did worse behind The Office than 30 Rock has done so far. But whether it is fair or not, it makes sense.

Julia – Celebrity Apprentice wont fall apart this year. Last year it aired Sundays at 9-11 to average of 8.98 million viewers. While that was lower than the previous seasons, its still good for NBC’s standards. If Celebrity Apprentice holds up in the same time slot, NBC will want it back for another year. I dont think Parks has a chance. 4 million viewers and an average of a 2.0 in the demo isnt great, even by NBC’s standards. Parks got a second chance and isnt imrpoving, thats why I think NBC may get rid of it. I see Community more like 30 Rock. Low rated but critically acclaimed, so its likely to be kept. I think its time for NBC to move 30 Rock to 8. Atleast a veteran can somewhat begin the hour and help out Parks, while The Office can help out Community. NBC’s comedy problem is that they put 2 relatively new comedies in the 8-9 hour against Vampire Diaries, Bones, Survivor, and FlashForward. Maybe with 30 Rock airing at 8 numbers would do a little better.

I may seem like im jumping ahead, but NBC is in bad shape right now. They will take whatever they can get and more.

As for you “Heroes” lovers, you’re blinded by your love for the show to realize how crappy it has become. Heroes was a high concept finite storyline. Once it was finished there were no storyline reason to continue. Therefore they have to come up with crap that makes no sense and is all around lame, and they hot shot hero and villian turns like a pro-wrestling show. Lame.

the problem wiht TV these days is they create hi-concept shows based around a story with an ending which gets people hooked, but then they don’t know how to cointinue making money off of it, so they either constantly delay the end (like Lost), or they finish it then they try to come up with something new that just don’t work.

I think the bigger question is, why do the networks seem more clueless than ever on what they think we want to watch?

They put Leno on, not because they think we want it, but because its appeasing their star, and its cheap. We get tons of other crappy shows like Trauma, and every other show is about the economy crashing … all coming on the heels of news showing the recession is over. i supposed next Fall will feature a slew of shows about how we need health care, months after that’s already been decided in govt.

if the networks would just get back to basics and think, “What type of show would I enjoy?” instead of what show people will supposedly “relate to” based on economic climate, or creating shows because they are cheap to to appease contract situations, then they might not be is so much trouble. Did anyone actually just sit down and think for a second why cable is king? it’s simple choice and variety and quality.

They should follow the execs at HBO who seem to the be the only big TV company that consistently puts out original shows that people like. And the MA rating aspect of HBO is BS, because the only version of “Six Feet Under” i ever saw was on Bravo and its my favorite show ever.

Dan, since Community moved, it's performing worse than Parks & Rec. P&R also has the benefit of being an NBCU production, while Community is Sony. Likelihood of either of them returning is slim-to-none, but P&R has at least as good a chance to return as Community. Celebrity Apprentice is a reality/competition series so as long as it does respectable NBC will keep it around. And there's my point. It hasn't even premiered. Who knows what sort of ratings it will put up? It could completely fall apart thing year, but you've already declared it definitely renewed.

Julia – I really see Community as a “definitely returning” type of series. It has good critical praise and if anything for NBC’s comedy block next season its a show they may want to keep around. I dont see Parks getting a third year. Parks got a second chance and is performing the worst of the 4 comedies so if anything my guess is that its done. Celebrity Apprentice is a reality/competition series so as long as it does respectable NBC will keep it around.

Tar – Well Persons Unknown and Parenthood havent premiered yet and dont even have definitive slots so its hard to determine their fates.

Bill – Id say Chuck for 50/50 because with so many other series likely to end, NBC may find a way to keep Chuck around. While I expect numbers to likely be on par with last season, the extra 6 episodes ordered shows that NBC wants to try to keep the series alive no matter what. Chuck may also get lower numbers than last year but I say it does have a better chance then Law & Order and Heroes which are both likely in their final seasons and scheduled to finish up in February.
