To David Smallville wishes it ever reached a 2.0 ever in Demos that's the only way it makes money. TVD has best of both worlds great live ratings and demos making it the number one show!

I don't recall Smallville going above a 2.0 demo among 18-49 year olds that often.

To the VD fan saying VD is killing other shows, last year Smallville's string of episodes beat overall ratings for every single week of Vampire Diaries through now. It aired in the same slot.

SV would be greater competition for Vampire Diaries if they didn't move it to friday night slaughterville.

No doubt VD is doing great, but it's merely replaced SV w/ a better W18-34 demo (and women in general) which is why CW is in love w/ it.

Comparisons vs. Live viewing will always give either the same, but usually bigger increases than comparisons vs. Live+SD

Because:

a.)the numbers above are for the week ending October 18, 2009.
b.)the CW is being a pain in the ass with these releases and including Live numbers nobody ever sees to confuse you (3.14 million was the live #, the Live+SD number that week was 3.877 million, and the Live+7 number (included above) was BIGGER, not smaller than both: 4.62 million

Godfather: certainly the percentage increases are smaller if you compare to Live+SD instead of live, but the numbers are pretty good either way, so I wish our friends at the CW would standardize around comparing to Live+SD numbers. But, you can't have everything!

Yeesh. And to think I have trouble parsing political press releases...

Love how they're comparing it to Live Only not Live + SD. Hmmm, does that hurt your numbers a bit if you do that?

why all shows at the end has fewer number of viewers vs final numbers.
for example the vampire diaries had 4.1 million viewers in finals but in this PR they said that it were 3.14????
