Heigl is still on GA, but right now her character has been temporarily written off the show while she’s off filming a movie or something.

I have never understood the animosity that alot of people in this chat room have for Cold Case But I also hope that they give this outstanding show the proper series finale that it deserves. Let Lilly Finally Get her man and let her find Happiness.
I will Miss this show and the great songs that each episode brought with it!

People are going crazy because Sunday is the most expensive night for advertisers, from the estimates of the article posted here recently.
Your bleeding money with no long term plan, except NCIS: Miami Trauma or CSI:Miami Trauma there midseason.

And for the people claiming the WS numbers are bad (comparing it to a VERY uncommon football game) that’s ridiculous. Aside from the Super Bowl, no other sport has done as good in recent years. (Maybe March Madness? I doubt it though)

You just can’t say that the series would be better off with small market teams. It’s like saying Fox is better off with brand new episodes of Dollhouse on Friday nights as opposed to, say, re-runs of House… :p

What are the odds of AFV moving to Wednesdays @ 8 in the winter? Considering the fact that it’s NEVER promoted by ABC whatsoever, those are semi-decent numbers for going up against such a huge football game. Even American Idol doesn’t perform that well! I think AFV would pull at least a 1.8 demo going up against the Wednesday edition of Idol and over a 2 demo against Glee (if it moves to 8 in the Spring).

Besides, I think Castle would do well on Sundays @ 8 after Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in the spring. It’s ratings have been very consistent this season, unlike Samantha Who? last fall. Castle doesn’t need the big DWTS lead-in, while SW? desperately needed it and proved it would fail otherwise.

ABC’s performance was great too.

I agree with you Lucia. I get tired of hearing these excuses as to why it is doing poorly. The show is bad, it’s bringing down CC’s numbers as well which was already teetering on the edge. All that matters is the advertisers/ratings. I am baffled as to why it is still around at this point.

the applebottoms were an example of this, katherines introductory season has a lame ending, predictable plot. Topped out by last season with dave moving in, which was a horrible plot.

I love the dynamics going on with the new neighbors not so much wracking up personal drama but facilitating drama between the neighbors.

…here are the other possible dates, as of now, where Brett Favre can affect prime time ratings (not will, but might – given the schedule, I’d say less than a 5 percent chance):

Dec 6 – Sunday, 4:15 – at Arizona
Dec 20 – Sunday, 8:20 – at Carolina
Dec 28 – Monday, 8:30 – at Chicago

Of course, NBC may flex out of the Vikings – Carolina game, and FOX or CBS may move another 1:00 game to 4:15 – I don’t think NBC will be allowed to flex in another Vikings game by FOX or CBS.

If Carolina is going for a playoff spot, and the Vikings are also going for home fiels, this game will be more likely to be a 800 pound gorilla than I predicted above.

Granted, I’m not a regular viewer, but I love watching it late at night on TNT.

What they need to do is move CC back one hour. It’s been on for 7 years, it’s basically a procedural. it would be a better lead-in to TR, which I saw for the first time last night…BORING.

What about moving CC to TAR’s slot, and moving TAR up, followed by TR?

I’d hate to see CC get cancelled without a proper Series Finale. It’s a great show.

Football is so damn unpredictable and you can have two medium sized markets in Milwaukee and Minnesota gather up 30 million viewers. Baseball should be doing the same for a series with the Brewers and Twins. Baseball used to be so unpredictable back in the day before the strike. I think more than ever people are growing tired of seeing the Yanks in the World Series, if there was a salary cap then the Yanks would be a lot more interesting to watch but until then no they won’t be to.

Some of what I said came from friends that work in programming at CBS, some was my own opinion, some came from TV Guide, some of it from blogs. So various places.

The only point I was trying to make was that “I think” that it will be January before anyone knows if CBS will stick with Three Rivers or not; that the weekly predictions here of it’s demise might be premature.

Speaking of “Three Rivers,” I liked how last night’s episode started with a crime investigation scene. Nice try, guys, trying to make it look like another Bruckheimer procedural and trick the Crime Broadcasting System audience into not changing the channel on it. Nice try.

It will be real interesting tonight. Two relatively small market NFL teams going up against two large market baseball teams. If both games are competitive, I think MLB will get the better ratings.

Dan has a point, CBS has midseason replacements already and it doesn’t need to keep Three Rivers, they’re not NBC or The CW.
